DART 0.2.29

@4ek1st 4ek1st released this 12 Oct 16:48

Hide known works reliably in Related works

  • Related works no longer retain visible liked or viewed cards through the display-position exception. Cached pages apply the filter again when returning to the artwork.
  • Work identities being saved and recently opened works count as known immediately, so delayed or temporarily unavailable history writes do not expose the same work again in the current session.
  • Changes to likes, bookmarks and viewed history refresh an already loaded Related section. Multiple changes share one render per animation frame and reuse existing media nodes and cached catalog results.
  • Confirmed copies and grouped member identities use the same filter across Danbooru, Gelbooru, Rule34 and Sankaku. The existing content setting still controls this behavior.

Install with DART's update button when ready. Personal profile data and source credentials remain local.

Separate works and playable quick previews

  • Parent post links now respect confirmed publication boundaries. Different Pixiv or X publications stay separate; exact file copies and confirmed variants continue to group across all four catalogs.
  • Grouped works retain their individual source metadata, so partial refreshes, saved state and later source pages cannot erase the boundaries between different works.
  • Arrow navigation and the viewed filter respect the repaired works. Related publications stay individually selectable and viewing one does not hide the other.
  • Old suspect groups are checked in the background when visible or opened. Complete source metadata repairs Likes and Bookmarks atomically, preserves every saved member and unknown fields, and keeps a verified backup before the first repair. Unavailable metadata or unmapped saved images never cause a destructive split.
  • Reads, likes, bookmarks and background metadata updates share a per-profile queue. Slow writes in the same process no longer make collection reads fail with a file-lock timeout; cross-process file protection remains active.
  • Space now opens a playable, muted video directly in quick preview. The viewer fits the available screen instead of staying at thumbnail size, with playback controls and error/retry handling.
  • Moving to another video with the arrow keys keeps playback in quick preview instead of falling back to a still thumbnail.
  • Closing, replacing or hiding a preview pauses playback and closing releases the media source. Native video controls keep their keyboard behavior; image zoom and panning remain available for still images.

Install with DART's update button when ready. Profile data and credentials remain local.

@4ek1st 4ek1st released this 12 Oct 13:56

DART Android 0.1.10

Standalone Android app for Android 8.0+ (com.artcatalog.mobile). It is signed
with the same owner key as the previous Android release, so it can be installed
over 0.1.6 while retaining the local profile.

Changes since Android 0.1.6:

  • Recommendations use likes, saved interests, tag preferences and exclusions.
Feeds continue loading available sources when another source is restricted.
  • Improved image preparation and scrolling, with previews prepared near the
viewport and additional work pages loaded during browsing.
  • Added fuller settings, distinct artist and uploader profiles, follows, and
color cues for character, franchise and original tags.
  • Grouped variants appear as one work, with all images in a vertical gallery.
Swipe anywhere on a work to move to another work; double-tap an image to like.
  • Work transitions slide the outgoing and incoming pages side by side. Removed
the row of individual source records from the detail view.

Verification: 52 Android unit tests passed, release lint had 0 errors, and
the APK's v2/v3 signatures were verified. Navigation and grouped works were
also checked in Android 15 emulators. Physical-phone performance was not
measured in this release.

APK: DART.Android-0.1.10.apk. The release asset includes its SHA-256
checksum in the GitHub release notes.

The Windows release remains separate. This Android-specific release is not
marked as the latest release, so the Windows download and updater keep their
Windows release target.

Loading, galleries and reliable session saves

  • Large sessions now save through a serialized queue with retry and local recovery. Closing the window and installing an update wait for the latest session save; compact shutdown saves retain existing history and duplicate evidence.
  • Following groups results in a background worker, and warm feeds reuse attribution, filters and grouping evidence. Returning to a feed avoids repeating expensive metadata work.
  • Catalog results appear as soon as their metadata is ready. Offscreen thumbnails no longer delay the first row; visible images still contribute to duplicate and variant detection.
  • Gallery badges show a number after the images have been checked. Confirmed copies and verified gallery counts persist between launches, while distinct variants remain available.
  • Video hover previews reuse overlapping ranges, read MP4 metadata without downloading the whole file, and sample nearby keyframes. Hover decoding skips audio and supports illustration videos up to 16 megapixels. Frame caching and bounded transfer limits remain in place.
  • Saved Sankaku originals recover when a file moves between supported CDNs. Likes, bookmarks, variants and artist metadata are preserved.
  • NSFW illustrations highlight only their own sidebar section.

Profile data and source credentials remain local. Install using DART's update button when ready.

Heart feedback at the pointer

  • Double-clicking an artwork image now shows a small pink heart at the exact pointer position. It gently pops in, then fades away within one second.
  • The same feedback works on artwork thumbnails, video thumbnails, every full-size image in a grouped work, and quick or full-screen previews, including zoomed images.
  • The decorative heart remains above modal previews and passes mouse input through. It does not move keyboard focus or change the artwork navigation.
  • Repeated double clicks move and restart one heart instead of accumulating overlays. Feedback appears immediately while the existing like save runs, including when the work is already liked.
  • With reduced motion enabled, the heart stays still for one second. Single clicks, hearts and F keep their existing behavior.

Verified in hidden Edge at 2560 x 1440 and 1100 x 720, with exact pointer positions, one-second cleanup, light theme, reduced motion, repeat clicks and a slow save. The running application and original profile were not replaced. Install through DART's update button.

DART 0.2.23

Double-click to like

  • Two quick left clicks on an artwork image add it to Liked. This works in Home, illustrations and search, Recommendations, Following, artist profiles, Liked, Bookmarks, recently opened works, related works and the artist's other works, including video thumbnails.
  • Artwork pages, every image in a grouped work, and quick or full-screen image previews use the same gesture. Liking one version saves the whole grouped artwork.
  • Double-clicking an already liked work keeps its like. Repeated clicks and concurrent windows cannot turn an image like into an unlike. Existing library metadata and order remain intact.
  • A single mouse click on an artwork thumbnail or detail image waits briefly for the second click, then opens the artwork or full-screen preview. Title clicks, keyboard activation, Ctrl clicks and middle clicks retain their existing opening behavior.
  • Hearts and F continue to like or unlike. Arrow navigation is unchanged. Preview zoom remains available with the wheel and zoom buttons; double-clicking the preview now likes the work.
  • Dragging or panning images does not like them. Leaving the tab, scrolling, using another control or closing the preview cancels pending image opening. A failed save leaves the image visible and permits another double-click to retry.

Verified with automated gesture, persistence, concurrent-store and regression checks, plus hidden Edge checks at 2560 x 1440 and 1100 x 720. The running application and original profile were not replaced. Install this release through DART's update button.

Browse artworks with the keyboard

  • Left and Right open the previous and next work in the list you came from: Home, illustrations and search, Recommendations, Following, Liked, Bookmarks, recently opened works, artist profiles, related works and the artist's other works.
  • F likes or unlikes the current artwork. The physical key also works with Russian or German keyboard layouts. Text fields, open menus and focused video controls retain their own keyboard behavior.
  • Quick and full-screen image previews use the same route. Browsing stays in the current artwork tab, including pinned tabs; each viewer keeps its own position. The requested keyboard hint panel is omitted.
  • Neighboring artwork details and images are prepared in both directions through the existing bounded caches. Near the end, the next page is prepared early; pressing Right shares that request rather than starting another one.
  • Left continues to work after liking a work, hiding viewed works or closing the original feed tab. Forward paging can continue from a retained feed cursor even after the source tab closes.
  • A slow or temporarily failed next-page request leaves the current artwork visible. The next Right press can retry. Rapid key presses and late responses cannot switch artwork after leaving the viewer.
  • Confirmed catalog copies and grouped variants occupy one navigation step. Late metadata can join previously unidentified copies. Incremental grouping updates affected works using the existing grouping rules instead of reprocessing the entire saved collection for every metadata response.

Verified with automated regression checks, hidden Edge browser checks at 2560 x 1440 and 1100 x 720, and an isolated copy of a personal profile. External catalog and network response times still affect uncached pages and media. This release is prepared for installation through DART's update button; the running application and original profile were not replaced during testing.

Faster return to your pages

  • Following keeps its loaded feed and scroll position. Leaving and returning no longer cancels and restarts every subscription check, or automatically refreshes a minute-old feed. Refresh remains available explicitly.
  • Search, profiles and recommendations resume from the existing buffer. Returning to a populated page does not request another page until scrolling continues; short pages still fill the viewport automatically.
  • Liking an artwork preserves the current recommendation order, visit and consumed query pages. Updated tastes apply to subsequent suggestions.
  • Liked and Bookmarks reuse their loaded collections. Opening saved artwork enriches the existing metadata without downloading both collections again. Actual like/bookmark changes still synchronize with the saved collection.
  • Duplicate checks and visible thumbnails share downloaded image bytes. Identical catalog requests from different pages share pending work and a short bounded cache. Cancelling one consumer does not break another; failures remain retryable, and explicit refresh and connection changes invalidate catalog responses.
  • Clicking an already selected content rating keeps the current page instead of repeating its search.

Also includes recurring tag-combination learning from the preceding source revision. Likes, bookmarks, follows, filters, connections and personal data remain in your existing profile.

Validated with automated regression checks, hidden browser navigation at 2560 x 1440 and 1100 x 720, and an isolated copy of a personal profile. External source and network response times still affect the first uncached load.

@4ek1st 4ek1st released this 30 Sep 12:19

DART 0.2.19

  • Improved recommendations for large collections: full tags are considered, repeated versions from one artist provide less evidence, and a few incidental likes no longer start independent searches.
  • Recurring interests are compared with a bounded recent catalog sample to reduce the influence of common tags. Slow or unavailable sample requests do not block the feed.
  • Yellow priorities apply to the artwork's actual tags, regardless of which search found it. Red exclusions also check full tags and grouped copies. Existing choices remain available when their matching likes disappear.
  • Added separate character and Copyright tags in recommendations, with green and purple outlines. Canonical search punctuation is preserved, including tags such as goddess_of_victory:_nikke.
  • Refresh explores more of the eligible tag pool and favors relevant works that were not suggested recently. Suggestion history persists separately from viewed history, and loading more keeps the current card order.
  • Fixed manual furry, anthro and anthropomorphic exclusions missing equivalent explicit tags on other catalogs. Ordinary animal ears, tails and artist names remain unaffected.
  • Preserves the furry filter from 0.2.18, existing likes, bookmarks, subscriptions, settings and saved tag choices.

DART 0.2.18

@4ek1st 4ek1st released this 30 Sep 11:28

DART 0.2.18

  • Added an independent Hide furry content switch in Settings → Content, with English, Russian and German labels. It is off by default and stays saved across restarts.
  • The filter applies to all four catalogs and to search, Home, Following, artist profiles, recommendations, related works, Liked, Bookmarks, history and open artwork pages.
  • Recognizes explicit furry and anthro tags, including Sankaku's alternate relationship and character-type tags. Tags from every merged copy or version are checked.
  • Likes, bookmarks and subscriptions are preserved. Turning off the switch restores works permitted by other filters; manually excluded tags remain independent.
  • Ordinary animal ears, tails, fur clothing and unrelated artist names do not trigger the filter. Works without explicit furry tags are not automatically classified.
  • Older preferences forms cannot reset the new switch. Failed saves restore the previous state, and controls are disabled while a save is pending.
  • Negative search tags such as -furry remain usable when the filter is enabled.
