ResumeSpec v0.1.0 — Initial Public Release

This is the first public release of ResumeSpec.

ResumeSpec is an open specification for representing professional identities in a structured, portable, and machine-readable format. Instead of treating a résumé as the source of truth, ResumeSpec defines a canonical professional profile capable of generating multiple representations while preserving the same underlying information.

Highlights

  • Initial project architecture
  • Project vision and design principles
  • Core specification documentation
  • Repository structure for future development
  • Roadmap and project status
  • Contribution guidelines
  • Dual licensing model
    • Apache License 2.0 for reference software
    • CC BY 4.0 for the specification and documentation
  • Initial project identity and documentation

Project Status

This release is considered Alpha.

The specification is in active development and will continue to evolve through community feedback, RFCs, and future releases.

At this stage, the repository establishes the vision, governance, documentation, and foundation for the future ResumeSpec ecosystem.

Looking Ahead

Upcoming releases will focus on:

  • Formal specification documents
  • JSON and YAML schemas
  • Validation rules

We welcome ideas, discussions, issues, and pull requests from the community.
