🔧 Improvements (v3.8.1.0)

  • Playnite Fullscreen starts up more reliably: OmniConsole's launch screen now stands in for Playnite's own splash screen, and stays up until Playnite Fullscreen is ready to take over.

    ⚠️ If you are on v3.8.0.0, please update. The platform launch changes in v3.8.0.0 were not yet tuned for Playnite Fullscreen, which could come up with a grey screen as a result.

🔧 Improvements (v3.8.0.0)

  • Platforms fill the whole screen: when a platform sits only in the Windows system tray — no taskbar icon, no window on screen — entering Xbox Mode (FSE) from the desktop leaves it short of full screen: Steam Big Picture sits in the middle of the display with black around it, and the Epic Games Store opens as an unmaximized window anywhere on screen. OmniConsole now stretches the platform window out to fill your display for you.

  • Platforms come to the front more reliably: in the same situation, the platform can also open behind the OmniConsole window and may not move to the front. You see only OmniConsole, while the platform stays hidden behind it. OmniConsole now detects the platform even when it opens in the background, and brings it to the front.

    ⚠️ Both of the above are Windows bugs, and only Microsoft can truly fix them. What OmniConsole offers is a workaround, so the platform may still be left with quirks you cannot see. To get the platform into a genuinely clean state, quit it completely (right-click its system tray icon and choose to exit), then start it fresh inside Xbox Mode, sign out and back in, or restart your PC.

  • Snappier Quick Actions: the OmniCharm widget's Quick Actions now dismiss Game Bar and reach their targets with a lighter, quicker feel. Task View goes one step further, working even when an app running as administrator (such as Hyper-V Manager) is in the foreground.

  • Smoother updates: the update flow now closes the OmniCharm widget at exactly the right moment, so the install is no longer held up partway through. If anything does hold it up, it reports an error you can retry instead of waiting indefinitely.

  • Upgraded language management: the community language manager now lets you manage the languages you have installed at any time, with or without a connection.

  • Tidier Nekomata Mode card: the hand-drawn cat icon on the Advanced page now takes up exactly as much room as the icons around it, so the Nekomata Mode card lines up with its neighbours for a more polished and uniform look.

🔧 改進 (v3.8.1.0)

  • 平台畫面撐滿整個螢幕：當平台只縮在 Windows 系統匣（工作列上沒有圖示、畫面上也沒有視窗），此時從桌面進入 Xbox 模式 (FSE)，平台畫面就會無法正確填滿整個螢幕：Steam 大圖落在螢幕中央、四周留一圈黑，Epic Games Store 則開成未最大化的視窗、位置隨處都有可能。OmniConsole 現在會替你把平台視窗撐開、填滿整個顯示器。

  • 平台更能順利來到前景：同樣是只縮在系統匣的平台，也可能開在 OmniConsole 後方就一直卡著，讓你只看得到 OmniConsole、平台卻遲遲來不到前景。OmniConsole 現在即使平台起在背景也能找到它、主動讓開，讓平台順利來到前景。

    ⚠️ 以上兩者皆為 Windows 的問題，真正的修復得由 Microsoft 來做。 OmniConsole 提供的是暫時的替代方案，因此平台仍可能留有你肉眼看不見的毛病。若要讓平台真正回到乾淨的狀態，請完全結束平台（在系統匣的平台圖示上按右鍵、選擇結束）後，在 Xbox 模式中重新啟動它，或登出再登入，甚至重新開機。

  • 快速動作更俐落：OmniCharm 小工具的快速動作，現在收起 Game Bar 並開啟目標的過程更輕快俐落。工作檢視更進一步，即使在以系統管理員身分執行的程式（如 Hyper-V 管理員）位於前景時，也能正常開啟。

🛠️ 安裝說明

從下方 Assets 下載 OmniConsole_3.8.1.0_x64.zip 並解壓縮至任意資料夾。

方式 A：Install.bat（建議）

  1. 執行 Install.bat，將自動開啟開發人員模式、安裝憑證、補齊相依框架套件，並安裝兩個 MSIX 套件。

方式 B：手動安裝

  1. [重要] 前往 Windows 設定 → 系統 → 進階，啟用開發人員模式。
  2. [重要] 點兩下 OmniConsole_3.8.1.0_x64.cer → 點選安裝憑證 → 存放區位置選擇本機電腦 → 將所有憑證放入以下的存放區 → 瀏覽 → 選擇受信任的人 → 完成。（若你之前已安裝過，則無需重複此步驟。）
  3. （選用，僅全新／離線系統需要；連網系統會自動下載） 依序點兩下 Dependencies\ 中的檔案安裝相依框架套件（若顯示已安裝相同或更新版本可略過）。
  4. 點兩下 OmniConsole_3.8.1.0_x64.msix 安裝主程式。
  5. 點兩下 OmniConsole.PhantomLink_3.8.1.0_x64-widget.msix 安裝 OmniCharm 小工具。

⚙️ 前置條件

  • Windows 11 24H2 (Build 26100.7019)+，且已啟用 Xbox 模式 (FSE) 功能。
  • OmniConsole 需要完整掌機版的 Xbox 模式 (FSE)。Microsoft 正逐步將受限 PC 版推送至一般 PC，請使用 Xbox Full Screen Experience Tool (XFSET) 切換至完整掌機版。
  • 桌機、筆電、平板及未取得完整掌機版的掌機：請先執行 XFSET。
  • 原生掌機裝置（如 ROG Xbox Ally 系列）：原廠即為完整掌機版，可直接安裝 OmniConsole。
  • 需要 Xbox 手把：Game Bar、Xbox 模式 (FSE) 以及所有手把功能皆需使用具備 Xbox 按鈕的 XInput 相容控制器。

🛠️ Installation Instructions

Download OmniConsole_3.8.1.0_x64.zip from the Assets below and extract it to any folder.

Option A: Install.bat (Recommended)

  1. Run Install.bat. It will enable Developer Mode, install the certificate, install any missing framework dependencies, and install both MSIX packages automatically.

Option B: Manual Install

  1. [Critical] Go to Windows Settings → System → Advanced and enable Developer Mode.
  2. [Critical] Double-click OmniConsole_3.8.1.0_x64.cer → click Install Certificate → Store Location: Local Machine → Place all certificates in the following store → Browse → select Trusted People → Finish. (Skip this step if you already have the certificate installed)
  3. (Optional — only needed on fresh/offline systems; online systems fetch these automatically) Double-click each file inside Dependencies\ to install the bundled framework packages (skip any that report an equal or newer version already installed).
  4. Double-click OmniConsole_3.8.1.0_x64.msix to install the main app.
  5. Double-click OmniConsole.PhantomLink_3.8.1.0_x64-widget.msix to install the OmniCharm widget.

⚙️ Prerequisites

  • Windows 11 24H2 (Build 26100.7019)+ with Xbox Mode (FSE) enabled.
  • OmniConsole requires the Full Handheld edition of Xbox Mode (FSE). Microsoft is gradually rolling out a Limited PC edition to regular PCs — use Xbox Full Screen Experience Tool (XFSET) to switch to the Full Handheld edition.
  • Desktops, Laptops, Tablets & Handhelds without the Full Handheld edition: Run XFSET first.
  • Native Handheld Devices (e.g., ROG Xbox Ally series): Already on the Full Handheld edition — install OmniConsole directly.
  • Xbox Controller Required: Game Bar, Xbox Mode (FSE), and all gamepad features require an Xbox-compatible (XInput) controller with an Xbox button.

🔄 已安裝過 OmniConsole？直接在應用程式內更新

  1. 開啟 OmniConsole 設定，前往 ☰ → 進階。
  2. 點選檢查更新，再點下載並安裝。OmniConsole 會自動下載新版本並完成安裝。

🔁 手把映射的遷移：若你在 v3.7.0.0 之前的版本，曾為以版本資料夾封裝的程式（如 GitHub Desktop）自訂過手把映射，其既有設定檔仍綁在該程式當初的版本、該程式升級後便不會生效。請開啟該程式，從 OmniCharm 小工具點選自訂此程式的手把映射…，並在編輯器中按下儲存並返回，設定檔即會重新綁定、通用日後所有版本。重新綁定後，編輯器顯示的繫結執行檔路徑會以 app-{version} 標記版本段，代表此設定檔已通用所有版本，屬正常現象。

⚠️ 升級時請透過「應用程式內更新」或 Install.bat（解壓 OmniConsole_3.8.1.0_x64.zip 後可見），不要從下方 Assets 下載安裝 MSIX 套件。 「應用程式內更新」與 Install.bat 都會妥善處理被執行中的遊戲佔用的檔案；手動安裝 MSIX 套件會導致更新不完整或兩套件版本不一致。

🔄 Already have OmniConsole installed? Update from within the app

  1. Open OmniConsole Settings, then go to ☰ → Advanced.
  2. Click Check for Updates, then Download & Install. OmniConsole downloads the new version and installs it for you.

🔁 Gamepad mapping migration: if you customized the gamepad mapping for an app that ships in a versioned folder (such as GitHub Desktop) on a version earlier than v3.7.0.0, its existing profile is still tied to the app version it was set up on and stops applying once that app updates itself. Open the app, then from the OmniCharm widget tap Customize gamepad mapping for this app… and press Save & return. The profile is rebound and now applies across all future versions. After rebinding, the bound executable path shown in the editor marks the version segment as app-{version}, indicating the profile now covers every version — this is expected.

⚠️ Please update via the in-app updater or Install.bat (found after extracting OmniConsole_3.8.1.0_x64.zip), rather than downloading the MSIX packages from the Assets below. Both the in-app updater and Install.bat properly handle files still in use by a running game; installing the MSIX packages manually will leave the update incomplete or the two packages on mismatched versions.
