MonkStash browser extension 0.1.2
Already use MonkStash on the web? Setup now has a first choice for you: I already use MonkStash. Save a move file in your web wallet (Settings, Move to another device), choose it here, enter your recovery words, and the extension opens your wallet already scanned. No long first scan, and your addresses, contacts and payment requests come along.
For everyday use, install the extension from the store links on monkstash.com/monero-chrome-extension once they are live. Until then you can install these files yourself: the steps are on the same page, under "Install it yourself".
What changed in 0.1.2
- New setup path "I already use MonkStash": a move file plus your recovery words (or address and view key for a watch-only wallet). The file is checked against your words before you set a password, and its restore height is used, so there is no date to guess.
- No move file? One button switches to a plain restore with your recovery words.
- The same choice is in the web wallet's setup, for moving between browsers.
- Chrome and Firefox now share one version number (0.1.2).

MonkStash browser extension 0.1.1
The first release of the MonkStash browser extension for Chrome and Firefox: a non-custodial Monero wallet in your toolbar. It is on its way to the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons. For everyday use, install it from the store links on monkstash.com/monero-chrome-extension once they are live. These files are here so anyone can check that the store version is built from this source.
What it does
- Popup for everyday use: balance, send, receive, recent activity. Expand to a tab or the side panel (Chrome) / sidebar (Firefox) for the full wallet.
- Keys are made and kept on your device, encrypted with your password, and held only in memory while unlocked. Locks after idle time, when every MonkStash window has been closed for a few minutes, when your computer locks, and when the browser closes.
- Create, restore (25, 13 MyMonero or 12 Exodus words), watch-only, and move from the web wallet without rescanning.
- No content scripts: it cannot read the websites you visit. Default connection: our relay at wallet.monkstash.com only.
