Release v0.14 - Gemini Integration & Exclusions

This release integrates the Google Gemini API for commit message generation

API Key Setup

Important: This tool requires a Google Gemini API key to function.

You must set the GEMINI_API_KEY environment variable. You can do this by:

1. Exporting the variable:

   export GEMINI_API_KEY="YOUR_API_KEY_HERE"

2. Using a .env file: Create a file named .env in the directory where you run the executable and add the line:

   GEMINI_API_KEY=YOUR_API_KEY_HERE
   

How to Use

1. Build the project (cargo build --release).
2. Run the executable, pointing it to your Git repository:

   ./target/release/git-changes-rs /path/to/your/repo [OPTIONS]

Examples:

• Analyze the current directory (excludes Cargo.lock by default):

  ./target/release/git-changes-rs .

• Exclude additional files (e.g., log files):

  ./target/release/git-changes-rs . --exclude "*.log"
  # or
  ./target/release/git-changes-rs . -e "*.log,*.tmp"
