A major Profile and navigation redesign

v0.9.6 makes Profile a first-class part of the app and reorganizes personal training controls around the lifter they belong to.

  • New Profile tab: Profile now has its own destination in the bottom navigation. Tap it to open your profile; press and hold it to quickly switch profiles or create a new one.
  • Simpler profile management: View the active avatar, name, and color in one place, then rename, recolor, switch, or delete eligible profiles directly from the Profile screen.
  • Exercise Insights: Select an exercise to see profile-specific PR highlights, current estimated 1RM, recent sessions, and volume trends, with a shortcut to the full exercise history.
  • No more hidden profile drawer: The old Home/Just Lift edge-swipe profile panel and speed-dial flow have been removed in favor of the dedicated, more discoverable Profile tab.

Preferences now follow each profile

Personal training behavior has moved out of global Settings and into the Profile screen. Switching profiles now switches that lifter's measurements and training preferences without restarting the app.

Profile now owns:

  • Weight unit, body weight, and explicit weight-selector increments
  • Equipment Rack configuration
  • Workout behavior, audio, countdown, gamification, and weight-suggestion preferences
  • LED color scheme and related trainer behavior
  • Velocity-Based Training, verbal feedback, Vulgar Mode, and safety controls

Settings is now reserved for truly global concerns such as appearance, language, video behavior, integrations, backups, account/sync, BLE diagnostics, and app information. Exercise-specific options remain with individual exercises instead of being duplicated as global Profile settings.

Existing profiles automatically inherit their previous settings during the upgrade, while newly created profiles begin with clean defaults. Profile preferences are also included in the updated backup and restore format.

Profile screen polish

  • Weight Increment now clearly controls how per-set weight selectors step, with explicit kg and lb choices.
  • The LED scheme picker is now a compact horizontal row of accessible color swatches instead of a screen-filling list.
  • Vulgar Mode is now the entry point for age confirmation; an under-18 response safely turns restricted modes back off.
  • Disco and Dominatrix unlock behavior has been corrected while keeping both easter eggs hidden until their requirements are met.
  • Profile switching, preference writes, deletion, and assessment data are guarded against mixed-profile and partial-write states.

Workout and reliability improvements

  • Synced 5/3/1 template cycles now advance correctly.
  • Health Connect exports use correct set numbering and exercise-name mapping.
  • Dark Material You surfaces use a consistent Slate palette.
  • Velocity-based 1RM estimates can no longer collapse percentage-based weights to floor values.
  • Active-workout video navigation is restored.
  • Workout UI now labels set types more clearly.
  • VBT verbal cues no longer trigger an unintended AMRAP/stall auto-stop when velocity-loss auto-end is disabled.
  • Stall detection better handles Echo deloads, racked pauses, and VBT baselines.
  • Set Summary and Next Set now advance one step per tap without unexpectedly skipping to End Routine.
