What's Changed
[0.9.0] - 2026-09-18
Heka comes to the Mac. Everything you already know from the Windows app is
here — the same quiet background scheduler, now as a proper Mac application.
Added
- macOS support. A universal app for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs,
installed by dragging it into Applications from a DMG. - Menu-bar control. The familiar Heka menu — Open, Run Task, Active Jobs,
Recent Runs, Pause, Quit — now lives in the Mac menu bar. - Starts with your Mac, and stays started. Turn on login start, and a
background watchdog quietly brings Heka back if it ever crashes. A clean
stop stays stopped. - Notifications that look like Heka. macOS toasts now carry the Heka icon
instead of a generic system one. - A real terminal CLI. Flip one switch in Settings and
hekabecomes
available in any new terminal, soheka run, heka logs, and the rest work
exactly as they do on Windows.
Fixed
- No more phantom second icon in the Mac Dock while the background daemon is
running.
