More efficient file update check
What's New
HTTP HEAD Request Caching - The update checker now uses HTTP HEAD requests to detect if files have changed, avoiding unnecessary downloads and saving bandwidth.
Features
- Smart Update Detection: Uses HTTP headers (ETag, Last-Modified, Content-Length) to determine if files need updating
- Metadata Caching: Stores server response headers in sidecar
.meta.jsonfiles for quick comparison on subsequent runs - Faster Updates: HEAD requests are much quicker than full file downloads
- Backward Compatible: Falls back to traditional MD5 comparison when HEAD requests fail
