Mana - MTG Archive 2.1.1 for Linux (64-bit).

What's new in 2.1.1

Finding cards, and getting them into decks:

  • Search inside your own collection. The search screen now asks where to look: the whole catalogue, or only the cards you own. In collection mode every result is one of your printings, with the number of copies you have.
  • Advanced search sits next to the search box. It used to hide behind an icon in the top bar, where it went unnoticed; it is now a labelled button right where you type. It can also be limited to cards you already own, combined with every other filter.
  • Fixed: exact colour filters found nothing. Asking for white + black under "exactly these colours" returned no cards at all, even with a thousand of them in the catalogue. They show up again.
  • Sort by card type, both in your collection and in advanced search results: creatures first, then planeswalkers, battles, instants, sorceries, artifacts, enchantments and lands.
  • Add a card to a deck without leaving your collection. Press and hold a card, pick the deck, and a copy goes to its main board keeping the language of the copy you own.

Scanner and card thumbnails:

  • The scanner's side panel keeps up with the scan. Each new card brings the panel back to the top, where the card appears. Until now the list stayed anchored to the card you were looking at, so the one you had just scanned sat above the visible area until you dragged the panel by hand. Reported by a user cataloguing whole boxes in burst mode.
  • Prices on thumbnails moved to the middle of the card, so they no longer cover a creature's power/toughness or the set symbol.

⚠️ Beta release

Mana - MTG Archive for Linux still ships as a beta.

Specifically, the camera card scanner could not be tested on Linux, as there is no webcam on the development machine. On Linux what has been verified is the catalogue download, prices and the Google Drive backup.

If the scanner fails for you — or works — please say so in this repository's issues or at apgmdev@gmail.com, mentioning your distribution and camera model. That is what will let the next release ship without this warning.

What to download

  • .deb — Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint and derivatives. Installs into your applications menu.
  • .tar.gz — portable build for any other distribution (Fedora, openSUSE, Arch…). Needs neither administrator rights nor installation.

Installing

.deb package:

sudo dpkg -i mana-mtg-archive_2.1.1_amd64.deb

Portable build:

tar xzf mana-mtg-archive-2.1.1-linux-x64.tar.gz
cd mana-mtg-archive-2.1.1-linux-x64
"./bin/Mana - MTG Archive"

Requirements

  • x86-64 (amd64) architecture. There is no ARM build.
  • glibc 2.29 or newer: Ubuntu 20.04, Debian 11, Fedora 30 and anything more recent.
  • Java is not required: the package bundles its own runtime.

Your collection lives in ~/.local/share/manamtgarchive-kmp and is left untouched when you update.
