  • Program Library: A reusable program library for pi, using program_id consistently for display, search, execution, and version identity. Each program contains manifest.json, main.js, and tests.js.
  • Agent Tools: atac_search, atac_get, atac_save, and atac_run support program discovery, contract inspection, candidate storage, and execution with new inputs.
  • Program Reuse: Each request supplies published program IDs and purposes to the agent, guiding it toward matching programs while supporting prompt settings from other extensions.
  • Inbox Board: /atac:inbox provides a dedicated full-screen TUI board, status columns, and New/Updates filters. Overview, Manifest, Code, Tests, Changes, and Report tabs offer line numbers, syntax highlighting, and independent scrolling. RPC clients are also supported.
  • Background Analysis: An independent subagent extracts or revises programs from completed requests, using published and Inbox catalogs to identify duplicate capabilities. pi displays start and completion notifications and records job state, model usage, and diagnostics.
  • Test and Publish: Users select an exact candidate revision for real testing; passing tests publish it automatically. Revisions require new verification, while failures and cancellations retain candidates and diagnostics.
  • Native Tool Execution: JavaScript runs through official pi Codemode, calling built-in, extension, and MCP tools through pi with their permissions, events, and cancellation behavior.
  • Versioned Storage: Immutable versions, sources, and reports are stored in ~/.atac, with keyword search, file locks, atomic writes, concurrent conflict detection, and interruption recovery.
  • GitHub Installation: Install from GitHub or pin a release with pi install, using Node.js 22.19+ and pi 1.1.x.
