v1.1.0
Morrow 1.1.0
A big update shaped by your feedback on Reddit and GitHub. Morrow is still free, open source and local first, and every page is still a plain Markdown file in a folder you choose. The new optional assistant stays off until you turn it on with your own key.
Highlights
- Daily notes come first. Morrow now opens on today's note, or on Home or where you left off if you prefer. Daily notes have buttons for the day before and after, a calendar that marks every day with a note, and a list of the pages you made that day.
- Better search. A full search view (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + K) shows every match with snippets, and supports
"exact phrases",-wordto leave pages out and#tagfilters. - **Properties from Obsidian and other now shows at the top of the page, and you can edit it there. Untouched lines keep their exact formatting. Add properties to any page with Add property.
- Folders become databases. Choose se** on any folder: each note becomes a
row, and their properties become column the values. Moving a page into a database turns its properties into columns, matched whatever their case, sodatefillsDate. Moving it out turns them back into properties, so nothing is lost. - Sync through a cloud folder. Settings finds your Dropbox, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, OneDrive,
Syncthing or Nextcloud folder and moves does the syncing and Morrow never connects to it. When a page changes on two computers at once, the copy the sync app keeps gets a banner, so you can compare the two side by side. - An optional assistant. Turn it on for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or
OpenRouter, or with a local model throuarches, reads and edits pages in Morrow's own Markdown. You approve every change, every change is kept in page history, and locked pages are never sent. Your key is encrypted by your system's keychain. - New Settings. Settings has been redesigned with a section list on the left, simple rows and Morrow's
own dropdowns.
Also new
- Canvases can be shown inside any page with
![[Canvas]]or/Inline canvas. Drag the corner to resize them. (#4) - While you edit a Mermaid diagram, its code sits beside a live preview.
- Databases offer to add properties your pages already have as columns.
- Importing Markdown reads frontmatter into the page's title, icon, tags and properties.
- A database exported from Morrow as Markdown imports as a database again..
- Redesigned slash menu with grouped blocks and Markdown shortcuts shown beside each one. It opens above the
line when there's no room below. - The top bar lines up cleanly, and pages adapt to narrow split panes.
- New builds for Windows on ARM and Intel Macs.
Fixes
- The block drag handle no longer disappear. (#1)
- Edit diagram now opens the diagram's code instead of reloading it. (#2)
- A parent page no longer disappears when all its subpages are trashed. (#3)
- In the graph, the hovered page's name cursor. (#6)
- Opening a page no longer rewrites its file.
- Opening a page that links to a canvas no longer rewrites its links.
- A database value that does not fit its column, such as a date written in words, is no longer dropped from the file.
- Tags, properties or a database type saved.
- Menus and dropdowns now take keyboardy the menu, not the dialog behind it.
