Critical hotfix
Do not control a thermostat with version 0.5.7. It can send Fahrenheit UI values as Celsius and drive the thermostat setpoint to its 99 F limit.
Changes
- Treat SmartRent resident API temperatures as Celsius even when the Honeywell display is Fahrenheit.
- Let Home Assistant convert API readings and commands to the configured Fahrenheit UI.
- Normalize outbound setpoints to SmartRent's 0.5 C resolution.
- Preserve a 1 F target step and the 60-90 F control range.
- Add installation and hardware verification guidance.
Upgrade
Keep both the physical Honeywell thermostat and Home Assistant configured for Fahrenheit. Update through HACS, restart Home Assistant, verify the current temperature matches the thermostat, then test a 75 F target and confirm the physical setpoint stays near 75 F rather than 99 F.
