Soquel 1.0.1

Download Soquel-1.0.1.dmg, open it, drag Soquel into Applications. macOS 13 or later, Apple silicon and Intel.

Signed and notarised by Apple, so it opens with an ordinary double-click.

On its first launch Soquel offers to set up Full Disk Access. Without it, Desktop, Documents and Downloads show as empty — that is a permission, not a fault, and macOS does not let any application grant it to itself.

Thirty-eight bugs found by an adversarial sweep are fixed. Seven of them lost data:

• Running the test suite overwrote your colours
• Asking to look at theme.json rewrote it with the shipped palette and dropped your background
• Folder sync would put a file where a folder was, deleting the tree, while reporting it as one replaced file
• A replace deleted the destination before checking the replacement had landed

Two that made the application feel broken:

• Typing a name now jumps to it in every view. It only ever worked in the list view, because NSTableView implements that itself — in icon view, which many people leave it on, typing did nothing at all.
• Cancelling a thumbnail cancelled nothing. Scrolling through a folder started a thumbnail for every file it passed and ran all of them to completion before discarding the results. That was the stutter and the memory both.

Also: search reported a failed regular expression as "no matches"; meaning-search scoped to ~/Notes returned hits from ~/Notes-archive; the disk map charged unreadable files zero bytes, so a protected folder read as empty; a sidebar drop landed at the bottom whatever it was aimed at.

New: a star in the toolbar pins the folder you are in, or the one selected, and unpins it again — ⇧⌘L. Dragging now says in the status bar that Escape abandons it.
