Finder's own settings, read but never written

A folder Finder already knows should be in icon view no longer opens as a list
just because Soquel has never been told. It reads .DS_Store for the view
style, the sort column and direction, list column widths, and icon size.

It will never write one. Scattering a hidden file into every folder anyone looks
at is the thing people dislike about Finder, and Soquel strips those files out
of the archives it makes — writing them would contradict that.

A choice made in Soquel still outranks one made in Finder. Cover Flow is
ignored rather than guessed at: there is no equivalent here and picking one
would put you in a view you never chose.

Selection

⌘A selects everything, in whichever view is on screen. It was bound to
something that never reached the file list, so it did nothing in icon or column
view.

⌘-click and ⇧-click work in column view. Its tables were single-selection
and its callback carried one file. Only a lone folder opens the next column now
— a range has no one folder to descend into.

Fixed

• Trashing left the file on screen in column view. The list reloaded its own
  table and nothing told the column browser, which draws from its own copy.
• Typing a name did nothing in column view, and neither did the filter box:
  both were driving a table that is not on screen there.
• Two identical filter boxes. The pane has one; the list owned a second that
  / slid in underneath it. / uses the pane's now.
• The stripe of nothing before every icon was the table's inset style plus
  8pt of intercell spacing plus 2pt in the cell.
• Columns could be dragged to a sliver. Three separate holes: floors too
  low, the last column sized by the table without consulting them, and a saved
  sliver restored unclamped on every launch.

Changed

Columns resize. They had the permission but not the resizing mask, so
dragging a divider did nothing. A dragged width is remembered, and dragging one
turns automatic fitting off rather than the two fighting over it.

Column view resizes too — one width for every column, dragged from any
divider, 140 to 640.

⌘+ and ⌘- zoom the icons, ⌘0 back to 72. Steps are proportional, so one
feels the same at 32 as at 200.

Names truncate at 320pt. Fitting the column to its contents meant one long
filename pushed Size, Kind and the dates off the right-hand edge.

HTML, XHTML and SVG render in the preview panel rather than showing their
source. JavaScript off, non-persistent store, read access to the file's own
folder and no further.
