ascended-browser 0.1.5
- Turns that end mid-action. A click whose turn ended while it was still running may already have reached the site (an order placed, a form sent), and the next turn used to find out only by doing it again. Now every state-changing action is journaled while it runs. If you stop a turn mid-action, the next result for that tab names the action, its element and the page. If the server itself dies (
claude -pending its servers, an SSH session dropping), the next session's first result lists what never finished. Each is said once, and typed values are never included. In a real Claude Code session dropped mid-order and asked again, 0.1.4 placed a second order; 0.1.5 checked the page and asked first. - Verified headless with no display, as on a remote box: after SIGTERM or an SSH-style SIGHUP, no browser or Xvfb process outlives the server, and the next session starts on the saved profile in under 4 s.
tests/turn_interrupt_mcp.pycovers interrupt (with and without a cancel notice), SIGTERM and SIGHUP.
ascended-browser 0.1.4
- Saved logins, never seen by the agent.
ascended-browser login add <site>saves a login (the password comes from a hidden prompt or stdin, never the command line), and the newbrowser_logintool signs in with it. Every tool result is scrubbed of saved usernames, passwords and TOTP secrets (also URL-encoded or escaped): observe, evaluate, extract including network bodies, and action results. Screenshots mask username, email, password, card and one-time-code fields, plus any saved value shown as page text.login list|edit|removemanage the vault (logins.dbin the data directory, readable only by you). See Saved logins, including the caveat for agents that also have a shell. - Sign in by hand.
ascended-browser signin <url>opens the browser on the saved profile for sign-ins a saved login can't fill (single sign-on, passkeys, emailed codes); later agent sessions start signed in. - Nested dropdowns and sturdier selects. Category menus such as "Job Board > LinkedIn" open level by level; typed searches wait for the list to settle; Ant Design and Workday-style popups are found; a missing option fails in about 1.5 s with the options the list offered, and the action is marked safe to retry.
- Uploads, logins and tabs report what happened. An unverified upload says what was observed; a login fill that didn't submit, or hit the rate limit, says so; a batch
browser_openreuses your tab when it is already at that URL. - Demos show what the agent got. Screenshot prints in the demo videos are now the masked picture the tool returned, and a new clip shows a saved login end to end.
ascended-browser 0.1.3
- Several sessions at once. A second server on the same machine (another agent, another editor window) no longer fails because the first one has the browser profile open. It runs on its own copy of the profile, already signed in wherever the saved profile was, and tells the agent so once. Sign-ins made in a copy end with that session.
- npx right after a release. The npm launcher retries once with a fresh index when uv's cached copy of PyPI doesn't list the new version yet.
ascended-browser 0.1.2
- README and the server's instructions now describe exactly what ships: phone/tablet resizing works on Linux on its own (the old Limits note said it needed Ascended); model-backed JSON-schema extraction is an Ascended-app feature and is no longer advertised here.
- Tool descriptions no longer mention app-only features.
ascended-browser 0.1.1
- Pins the browser to Camoufox 135.0.1-beta.24, the build every test ran on (
fetchused to install the newest Camoufox release: today Firefox 156, ~1.3 GB, untested). Other Camoufox installs on the machine keep their default. - The server starts the browser download at startup on first run, so the first tool call waits less.
- README: logo, inline demo GIFs, one-command Codex setup.
ascended-browser 0.1.0
First release: a real, hardened browser for AI agents as an MCP server.
- Install:
uvx ascended-browserornpx -y ascended-browser - Claude Code:
claude mcp add ascended-browser -- uvx ascended-browser - Codex:
codex mcp add ascended-browser -- uvx ascended-browser
Verified on Linux with Claude Code, Codex and opencode on live sites.
