• Edit is one click away. Hover a message you wrote and Edit sits
  beside Reply and React. Anchor and Delete are in the ⋯ menu.
  An anchored message still shows its anchor, and clicking it takes the
  anchor off.
• A friend's "online" or "offline" always shows at the top of the
  conversation. The button to check again appears when you point at it.

Fixed

• A conversation opens at the newest message, and stays there while
  pictures and link previews load. It used to stop part way up, and then jump
  around while you scrolled down.

Added

• See who is typing. When somebody is writing to you, "Marko is typing"
  appears above the message box, and "typing..." appears under their name in
  the chat list. In a group it names everybody who is typing. It goes away
  when they send, or a few seconds after they stop.
• See who is talking in a call. The tile of whoever is speaking lights up
  in your theme's colour, yours included. This works in calls with one friend
  and in group calls.
• Group pictures. The person who made a group can give it a picture from
  the group's settings. Everybody in the group sees it in the chat list and at
  the top of the conversation.
• Starred groups on Home. Open a group's settings and press Add to
  favorites. The group then shows in Favorites on Home.
• Typing emoji. Type :D or another face followed by a space, and it
  turns into an emoji. Type : at the start of a word to choose an emoji
  from a list.

• Clicking a notification opens the right conversation, not the one you
  last had open.

Fixed

• Group calls use the speaker and microphone you chose in Settings. Until
  now a group call always used the ones Windows had chosen, and a change you
  made during the call did nothing.
• A group call starts even when your chosen microphone cannot be opened.
  It uses the default one and tells you why, instead of failing with
  "OverconstrainedError".

• Themes. Open Settings, then Appearance, and pick how Transferatu
  looks. Eleven to choose from. Dark: Transferatu, Dracula, Tokyo Night,
  Tokyo Neon, Nord, Catppuccin Mocha and Gruvbox Dark. Light: Paper, Solarized
  Light, Rosé Pine Dawn and Cyberpunk. The choice is kept on this computer
  only.
• Home shows who wrote to you. When a friend sends you a message, their
  card on Home lights up, with a dot and the words "New message". Open the
  conversation and it goes back to normal.

Fixed

• Everybody in a group call can hear everybody. Sometimes two people in
  the same call could not hear each other, while a third heard both. The app
  had connected to one person twice at once, and the two connections cancelled
  each other out. It works best when everybody in the call has this version.

Added

• Send my log here. Something went wrong? Open a conversation's settings
  and press Send my log here. It sends a copy of the app's log as a text
  file in that conversation, so whoever helps you can download it. The log
  holds no messages. It does hold file names, the addresses of links in your
  chats, and the ids of the machines the app talked to.
• A group call writes how it is doing to the log every ten seconds, for
  every person in it. That is what shows who can reach whom.

Fixed

• Lines in a group call show up once, on the screen they were drawn on.
  With two people sharing at once, every line could appear twice, and on
  every shared screen instead of only the one it was drawn on.
• Two people drawing on one screen no longer wipe out each other's lines.
• The colour buttons work in a group call. Your pen starts in your own
  colour and changes to any colour you pick.

Everybody in a group call needs this version for drawing to work. A line
drawn from 0.3.0-beta.32 is not shown.

Added

• Edit your messages. Hover over something you wrote, open the ⋯, and
  choose Edit. The message turns into a box with its words in it: Enter
  saves, Esc cancels. It stays exactly where it was and says (edited).
  Hover over that to see when. Text and replies can be edited, however old.
• Delete your messages, for everyone. Choose Delete in the same menu.
  It asks first. The message stays in its place and reads Deleted message
  on every machine that has it, and a machine that was switched off shows the
  same the next time it is on. The words are gone from the disk, not only from
  the screen. A deleted file or picture stops being downloadable; a copy
  somebody already downloaded stays where it landed. A reply to a deleted
  message stays, and its quote reads Deleted message.

Fixed

• A group call keeps going when you look at something else. Opening
  Settings or another conversation used to stop your shared screen and your
  camera, and people who joined meanwhile could stay on "connecting".
• One picture per person in a group call. A shared screen fills that
  person's tile with their camera in its corner, and your own tile shows your
  own camera and screen.
• A sound plays when a call ends. It was built and never made it into a
  release.

Added

• Calls in a group. A group now works like a channel: the call side of it
  is always there, nobody rings anybody, and you walk in and out whenever you
  like. Open a group, press Call, then Join call. One person sitting in
  it alone is a normal call, and the others join when they see it. Leaving the
  call leaves you in the group, reading along. Up to six people.
• See who is in a call without opening the group. A group with somebody in
  its call shows a small green phone and a number in your conversation list. No
  sound and no notice: it is just there when you look.
• Camera and screen in a group call. Turn your camera on, share a screen,
  or both. Several people can share a screen at the same time. Nobody is
  ever told "somebody else is sharing": every picture gets smaller instead, and
  it grows again when a screen stops.
• Draw on a shared screen in a group. The person sharing presses Allow
  drawing, and then everybody watching can draw on it at once, each in their
  own colour. The lines appear on the sharer's real screen and on everybody's
  copy of it. Anybody can clear them. Nobody can draw until the person sharing
  says so.
• Click a picture to make it big. One click fills the call with it and puts
  the rest in a strip below; one click on the big one goes back. A shared screen
  also has Fullscreen, so there is room to draw on it. Esc leaves.
• Make a group with nobody in it. A group is a channel, so you can make one
  and add people afterwards, or keep one to yourself. It used to insist on two
  friends before it would let you start.

Notes

• Voice and video calls between two friends have not changed at all. They
  still ring, and you still answer.
• Everybody in a group call sends their picture to everybody else, so your
  upload decides how well it runs. Six people with cameras is about 2.3 Mbps
  going out. Shared screens cost far more, which is why they shrink as more go
  up.
• Both machines must be on this build. An older one does not answer the group
  call protocol at all.

Added

• Group chat. Talk to several friends at once. Press the people button
  beside the search box in Chat, pick two friends or more, and name the group.
  Everybody in it can write, send files and pictures, reply and react. Two
  people who are not friends with each other can still be in the same group,
  and you see the name and picture of somebody you have never added. Up to 32
  people. There are no voice or video calls in a group yet.
• The person who made the group says who is in it. They can add people,
  take people out, and rename it. Anybody can leave whenever they like. Every
  change of members gives the group a new key: somebody who leaves or is
  taken out keeps what was already said to them and can never read a word said
  after, and somebody added later reads only what comes after they join. The
  keys go straight from machine to machine, the same way your messages do. No
  server is ever told that a group exists.
• A group file waits for everybody. A file you send to a group stays ready
  to download until every other member has taken it, instead of stopping after
  the first one. If one person says no thanks, it disappears for them alone and
  the rest can still take it. Files from a group land in
  Downloads/Transferatu/<your name>/Groups/<the group name>/.
• A quiet line in the conversation says what happened to a group: who made
  it, who renamed it, who was added, who was taken out, and who left. It counts
  as unread, because being added to a group is news.

Added

• Draw on a screen shared from a Mac. A Mac now shares through Apple's own
  screen picker, opened by Transferatu, so Transferatu knows which screen you
  picked. Allow drawing then works the same as on Windows: your friend's lines
  appear on your real screen, on a layer you cannot see or click, and they
  never show up in the video your friend gets back. No Screen Recording
  permission is needed. Change screen opens Apple's picker again and switches
  without a break. Needs macOS 15.2 or newer; an older Mac shares as before,
  without drawing.

• Far fewer banners. Transferatu no longer puts up a banner to say
  something worked, like "Signed in with Google." or "Avatar updated.": you
  can see it worked. The banners that are left, for progress and for errors,
  go away by themselves after a few seconds instead of waiting for you to
  close them.

• Share your screen in a call. A Share screen button sits next to the
  camera, and your camera keeps going beside the screen, so your friend sees
  both. On Windows, Transferatu has its own picker: every screen you have,
  laid out the way they stand on your desk, with a live picture of each and its
  name. One click shares it, and Change screen moves to another one without a
  break. On a Mac, the system's own picker opens.
• Draw on a friend's shared screen. When a friend shares a screen from
  Windows, they can press Allow drawing. A Draw switch then appears on their
  screen in your call, with four colours, three sizes, a highlighter, and lines
  that vanish after three seconds or stay until somebody clears them. Your
  lines appear on their real screen, where you drew them, on a layer their
  clicks go straight through and that never shows up in the shared picture.
  Stop drawing, Stop sharing or hanging up takes every line away.
• Pen pressure. A drawing tablet or a pen display draws thinner or thicker
  with how hard you press, when its driver has Windows Ink turned on.
• Fullscreen a shared screen. Your friend's screen fills the whole monitor
  the app is on, which leaves room to draw on it. Esc leaves.
• Call settings. Settings, Calls chooses the camera, the microphone, the
  speaker on Windows, the picture quality, and echo and noise clean-up, and a
  change reaches a call that is already going. Automatic picture quality
  follows the connection. Settings, Notifications has two ringtones to choose
  from.

• A call lives in your friend's conversation. Call and Chat tabs at the
  top switch between the call and the messages without ending anything, so
  files and messages can go while you talk. A small call bar in the title bar
  shows who and how long from any page, with mute and hang up. Every picture is
  a tile: click one to make it big, click it again to see them all.
