Sheet Geek 0.2.2 gets ready for the Claude and ChatGPT plugin directories, and fixes a Claude Code bug. How it reads and asks is unchanged, and brains from 0.2.1 keep working.

Fixed

  • Claude Code: naming a spreadsheet that has a brain in a message no longer gets the message blocked with an error (a bug since 0.2.0). The hooks now fail silently instead of blocking, stay under Claude Code's size limit, and no longer say a file has a brain when it doesn't.
  • A question about a price list's dates could show "{}" where a column name belonged.
  • The adapter snippets now name a CSV's brain file correctly (<name>.brain.json).

Changed

  • An app icon.
  • It starts when you ask it to: give a sheet a brain, explain or document it, build a data dictionary, audit it, hand it to someone new, join it with another file, or build an app from it. It also starts when a file already has a _brain tab.
  • Instructions that read the same in any AI app, and your explicit request now wins over its house rules (it still never changes your data).
  • The brain's first note ends with one line naming its maker: "Made with Sheet Geek by Actual Intelligence Labs." Nothing is tracked or sent.
  • The README and SECURITY.md now say exactly what it reads, writes and sends, and how to report a security problem.

  • Claude Code: /plugin marketplace add Actual-Intelligence-Labs/sheet-geek#release, then /plugin install sheet-geek@sheet-geek.
  • claude.ai or ChatGPT (Work mode): download sheet-geek.zip below and upload it as a skill.

First public release. The frozen v0.2.0 skill (the version both studies tested). For claude.ai and Claude desktop: download spreadsheet-brain.zip and upload it under Settings > Capabilities > Skills. For Claude Code: /plugin marketplace add zachk-alt/spreadsheet-brain, then /plugin install spreadsheet-brain@spreadsheet-brain. Results and method: evals/PREREG-confirmatory.md.
