πŸ“¦ Release: v1.0.0 – Initial Release

πŸš€ Overview

This is the first official release of the VB.NET RTF Combiner, a Python-based utility that converts and combines VB.NET source files into a single colour-coded .rtf document. The tool is ideal for documenting, printing, or sharing your VB.NET projects with syntax highlighting similar to Visual Studio.

βœ… Features

  • πŸ” Recursively searches and combines .vb files from a selected folder.
  • ✨ Visual Studio-style syntax highlighting using Pygments.
  • 🧠 Automatically excludes:
    • .Designer.vb files
    • AssemblyInfo.vb
    • System-generated attribute files
  • πŸ“„ Appends each file under its own header inside the RTF.
  • πŸ’Ύ Saves output as combined_output.rtf and avoids overwriting by auto-numbering (combined_output_1.rtf, etc.).
  • πŸ–±οΈ GUI prompts using Tkinter to guide file and folder selection.

πŸ’» Requirements

  • Python 3.10+
  • pygments package
    Install via:
    pip install pygments

πŸ“‚ How to Use

  1. Download the script.
  2. Run it with:
    python "code format - Public.py"
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to:
    • Select your global/module .vb file.
    • Select the folder containing your other .vb files.
  4. Open the generated RTF in Microsoft Word or WordPad.
  5. Use Ctrl + A, then Ctrl + C to copy everything and paste into your final documentation or report.

πŸ“Œ Notes

  • Tested on Windows 10 and 11.
  • Ideal for coursework or portfolio documentation involving VB.NET.
