Gazer 0.5.2 beta

Signed Windows MSI for testers. The installed Program Files copy uses uiAccess so Gazer can sit above Task Manager and type/click into elevated windows. .\build\Gazer.exe stays unsigned so local builds still launch.

Highlights since 0.5.1 beta

  • UIAccess: MSI Authenticode-signs Gazer.exe and stamps uiAccess=true so the Program Files copy stays above Task Manager. gazer.log reports UIAccess: yes when the token is present.
  • Mag-pick: zoom window no longer flashes or double-opens on HWND restack; gaze on the lens is owned by the overlay so the dock does not hide it.
  • Composer: gaze phrase buffer with ElevenLabs (and SAPI fallback), voice/style boards, soundboard, history, voice gain, and system volume. Typing on composer pages does not inject into the OS.
  • Settings: hub plus Appearance / Speed / Magnify / Indicators / Assist / Tools / Theme. Daily-driver vs designer dwell. Factory settings refresh on each install.
  • Theme and icons: Apple-system palettes and live theme tokens in Page XML. Cell/zone icons load from SVG stems (resources/icons/svg/).
  • Layers: page visibility is layers instead of show flags. Drawer and quit are ordinary layers on main.
  • Page editor: code view, snap, themed chrome; Cell and Zone keep their own Style/Dwell tabs.
  • AppData: settings live in %AppData%\Gazer (no nested Gazer\Gazer). Each install deletes settings.json; speech secrets, clips, and user layouts stay.

Install

  • Double-click Gazer-0.5.2-beta.msi, or
  • msiexec /i Gazer-0.5.2-beta.msi
  • Quiet: msiexec /i Gazer-0.5.2-beta.msi /qn

Quit a running Gazer first. Launch the Start Menu / Program Files copy (not .\build\Gazer.exe) for UIAccess.

Uninstall

  • Apps & features, or msiexec /x Gazer-0.5.2-beta.msi

Notes

  • Installs to Program Files\Gazer\ with Start Menu + desktop shortcuts
  • Layouts/models ship under resources\; settings stay in %AppData%\Gazer
  • Mouse tracker works without hardware; Tobii Eye Tracker 5 needs Tobii drivers (MSI includes tobii_stream_engine.dll)
  • ProductVersion is 0.5.2; this MSI upgrades earlier 0.5.x betas
  • Self-signed Authenticode is trusted at install so UIAccess can start. A real PFX can be supplied via GAZER_SIGN_PFX.

Build

Tag v0.5.2-beta on master. Rebuild with .\scripts\build-msi.ps1.
