Gazer 0.6.4 beta

Signed Windows MSI for testers. The installed Program Files copy uses uiAccess so Gazer can sit above Task Manager and type/click into elevated windows. .\build\Gazer.exe stays unsigned so local builds still launch.

Highlights since 0.6.3 beta

  • Rescue: dock Rescue chip (rescue.reset) stops loops, releases keys, and docks. Gazer.exe --guard (logon Run) relaunches a hung or crashed host. A second Gazer.exe waits for a pipe ACK and takes over if the host is frozen. Crash minidumps go under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Gazer\crashes. Lock screen / UAC pauses inject.
  • Look-to maps: gaze analog maps for scroll, mouse, left stick, and right stick (shared disk, overlay HUD, live ring editor). All four can run at once.
  • Gamepad board: drawer Gamepad opens an Xbox-layout pad. Settings → Assist can download ViGEmBus (UAC needs a helper). ViGEmClient.dll ships next to Gazer.exe.
  • Settings: hub split into basic and advanced layers.
  • Tobii: Stream Engine is no longer in the MSI. Testers need Tobii Experience / drivers; Gazer loads tobii_stream_engine.dll from that install. Brief tracking-lost (blinks, looking at a video) no longer switches dwell to the mouse cursor; mouse fallback is only if Tobii fails to start or the stream dies.
  • Docs: Send/Command catalogs, splash tour video and head-pose screenshot on the home page.

Install

  • Double-click Gazer-0.6.4-beta.msi, or
  • msiexec /i Gazer-0.6.4-beta.msi
  • Quiet: msiexec /i Gazer-0.6.4-beta.msi /qn

Quit a running Gazer first. Launch the Start Menu / Program Files copy (not .\build\Gazer.exe) for UIAccess.

Uninstall

  • Apps & features, or msiexec /x Gazer-0.6.4-beta.msi

Notes

  • Installs to Program Files\Gazer\ with Start Menu + desktop shortcuts, and a logon entry for Gazer.exe --guard
  • Layouts/models ship under resources\; settings stay in %AppData%\Gazer
  • Mouse tracker works without hardware; Tobii Eye Tracker 5 needs Tobii drivers (DLL is not in the MSI)
  • ProductVersion is 0.6.4; this MSI upgrades earlier 0.6.x betas (same-version upgrades allowed)
  • Self-signed Authenticode is trusted at install so UIAccess can start. A real PFX can be supplied via GAZER_SIGN_PFX.
