Gazer 0.6.5 beta

Signed Windows MSI for testers. The installed Program Files copy uses uiAccess so Gazer can sit above Task Manager and type/click into elevated windows. .\build\Gazer.exe stays unsigned so local builds still launch.

Highlights since 0.6.4 beta

  • Settings: one host with eight boards: Dwell, Zoom, Place, Gaze, Head, Speak, Theme, and Setup. Each board uses the same title row under the tab bar. On Place, ComboMouse enable is labeled Try and sits beside Move to.
  • Head: the page lists the six axes and edits the selected map in the column, leaving the preview and curve in place. The preview follows gaze. New maps start from a four-point deadzone. Loading settings upgrades the old three-point and five-point factory curves.
  • Speak: word suggestions sit above the phrase. A sentence model ranks the next word and corrects the token under the caret. A usage-ranked dictionary completes words the sample phrases never used.
  • Indicators and look-to: progress and pick markers can all be turned off. Each look-to overlay part has its own border and fill. The outer radius is labeled Max, and output stays at 100% until the outer deadzone. Placing the cursor does not run the look-to idle timer. A new scroll origin clears a half-finished hub dwell and the scroll stream.
  • Icon: new app icon and site wordmark.

Install

  • Double-click Gazer-0.6.5-beta.msi, or
  • msiexec /i Gazer-0.6.5-beta.msi
  • Quiet: msiexec /i Gazer-0.6.5-beta.msi /qn

Quit a running Gazer first. Launch the Start Menu / Program Files copy (not .\build\Gazer.exe) for UIAccess.

Uninstall

  • Apps & features, or msiexec /x Gazer-0.6.5-beta.msi

Notes

  • Installs to Program Files\Gazer\ with Start Menu + desktop shortcuts, and a logon entry for Gazer.exe --guard
  • Layouts and models ship under resources\. Install removes %AppData%\Gazer\settings.json so the next launch writes factory defaults. Speech secrets, clips, and user layouts stay.
  • Mouse tracker works without hardware; Tobii Eye Tracker 5 needs Tobii drivers (DLL is not in the MSI)
  • ViGEmClient.dll ships next to Gazer.exe. The virtual pad still needs ViGEmBus (Settings, Setup).
  • ProductVersion is 0.6.5; this MSI upgrades earlier 0.6.x betas (same-version upgrades allowed)
  • Self-signed Authenticode is trusted at install so UIAccess can start. A real PFX can be supplied via GAZER_SIGN_PFX.
