Unable to launch OSRS official client.

When I try to run the official client through Bolt I get the following error:

Seems to be some issue with finding the right folder, but I'm not sure how one would fix this.

Installed through flathub and have umu-launcher as a system package on fedora.

I also have steam installed as a flatpak.

Tried changing steam and bolt to the non flatpak versions and the error changed a bit, but seems to be of the same character:

I can't find where this g_compatdata comes from. I guess it's trying to use the directory /home/simon/Games/umu/1343370/pfx/dosdevices assuming that it already exists when it actually doesn't.

Is it possible that pfx directory exists but is empty? Or wasn't correctly initialised by wine?

I've also just noticed that the flatpak config doesn't persist the Games folder correctly so I'm not sure where the wine prefix is actually being saved in the flatpak version. Probably somewhere in /run. Not likely to be the cause of your issue, but not helping either.

After some testing I am fairly certain the issue is with the GE-Proton version it uses be default.

From what I can tell Bolt runs umu-run with the PROTONPATH env variable "GE-Proton", which pulls the latest release.

Reading another issue there seems to be some issue with symbolic links in the newer releases of GE-Proton:

I downloaded an older verison of GE-Proton, 10-2 and recompiled Bolt with that line pointing directly to my local install of GE-Proton10-2.

That fixed it, umu-run is able to create the prefix and run the official osrs client. Maybe Bolt should be updated to pin the GE-Proton version to 10-3 until the regression is fixed?

I tried changing the PROTONPATH env variable from the OSRS launch command field, but that didn't seem to work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Also worth noting: After the prefix has been successfully created with the patched Bolt launcher, I can then run the client from the unpatched Bolt launcher, that uses the latest GE-Proton10-15. It's only creating the prefix that needs the older version of GE-Proton.

Fixed in latest version, we now use wine-staging and not proton.
