Gentra Island v1.0.3
- Nine more languages. Español, Português, Français, Deutsch, 日本語, 한국어, 简体中文, हिन्दी, and العربية join English and Bahasa Indonesia. Arabic lays the island out right to left. Pick one in Settings, Language. These translations were drafted with AI help; corrections from native speakers are welcome. Reminders still read times in English and Indonesian only.
Already on 1.0.1 or 1.0.2? The island offers the update itself: Settings, Updates, or the G menu in the menu bar.

Gentra Island v1.0.2
- Fixed: the Focus droplet counted down two seconds at a time. It only redrew when new system figures arrived, every two seconds. It now ticks every second.
- The cover fills the music view. With artwork, the open player lets the cover fill its left side, edge to edge, and fade into the cover's own color, which fills the rest. The words, the bar, and the buttons switch between light and dark ink to stay readable on any cover. Songs without artwork look as before.
- Fixed: blurry album art. Covers were shrunk to 160 pixels, and a YouTube frame ended up a 90 pixel square stretched across the open player. Covers are now sharp 512 pixel squares, and YouTube thumbnails come in their largest size, without the black bars.

Gentra Island v1.0.1
- Updates in one click. Once a day the island looks for a new version on GitHub. When there is one, Settings, Updates shows Update and restart, and the G menu in the menu bar or system tray shows Update to the new version. Every update is signed and checked before it installs. Turn the daily check off in Settings.
- The Mac app keeps its identity between versions. It's signed with the project's own certificate instead of ad hoc, so macOS keeps the permissions you gave after an update. Coming from 1.0.0, macOS may ask once more.

Gentra Island v1.0.0
- Droplets, a new look. A black core grows out of the notch and says the one thing that matters now: an agent that needs you, a call, an agent at work, a focus session, or a download. Droplets hang under it, one for each feature, and grow into a full view when you tap them. Done or Esc takes you back. Big numbers use Doto, a dot-matrix face like the eyes.
- Liquid Glass on macOS 26. The droplets are real system glass, so your wallpaper shows through. Older Macs get frosted droplets, Windows and Linux solid ones.
- Smoother. Droplets move on the graphics chip, and WebKit's 60 fps cap is lifted for faster screens.
- Two droplets while music plays, the cover and a level meter either side of the notch. A call or a download takes their place, and the call droplet has Mute.
- Your accent tints everything, light theme and dark.
- Steps aside for full screen (macOS). Over a full-screen video or app, the island shrinks to a thin line, and comes back when you leave.
- A clipboard that cleans up after itself. Keep things 1, 7, or 30 days (the default), or until it's full; never more than 60 images, oldest first. Pinned items always stay. Settings shows how much space it takes and has Clear history.
- Copy text on any image in clipboard history, not only new screenshots.
- Agent logos. Claude Code shows its mark; Codex shows a terminal.
- Fixed: a guessed reset time for Claude Code. Claude doesn't share it, so the AI view now shows tokens for the latest session, today, and the last 7 days, and no time.
- The old island is still there: start the app with
GENTRA_CLASSIC=1.

Gentra Island v0.9.4
- Fixed: the welcome guide never showed. On first launch the island opens a short Getting started guide, but another app taking focus closed it before anyone saw it. It now stays until you click Skip or Done, and tells you where to find the island again: the G in the menu bar.
- No bouncing Dock icon. Gentra Island lives at the top of the screen, so it no longer shows in the Dock while it starts.
- On a Mac, the first open can take a few minutes while macOS checks the app. The install notes now say so.

- Pixel eyes. The eyes are now small rounded squares that glow in your accent color, like a tiny friendly robot. Change the accent in Settings and they follow.
- Fixed: the selected mode's outline was cut off at the top of the Modes panel. Card descriptions now line up across the row.

- The eyes sit beside the camera. On a Mac with a notch, one eye now sits either side of the camera, in the menu bar, so they stay visible at rest without covering the windows below. Pointing at the notch shows memory and CPU as before. Always is now the default; Moments shows them only when something happens.

Gentra Island v0.9.1
- Eyes in the notch. Point at the notch and two eyes peek out, follow your pointer, blink, smile when a task is done, look up when something needs you, and nap while you're away. On a Mac with a notch they sit just below the camera, since the notch itself has no pixels. Settings has Off, Moments (the default, so nothing is covered), and Always.
- Smart screenshots work with ⌃⇧⌘4 too. A screenshot copied straight to the clipboard, or any copied image, gets Copy text. Before, only screenshots saved as files did.
New in 0.9: approve Claude Code's requests from the notch, smart screenshots, and download progress. See 0.9.0.

Gentra Island v0.9.0
- Approve from the notch. When Claude Code asks for permission, the notch shows the command in full with Allow, Deny, and In terminal. Only your click decides; unanswered after 30 seconds, Claude Code asks in its own window. Connected before? Click Connect again in the AI tab once.
- Smart screenshots. A new screenshot shows on the island with Copy text, Copy image, and Shelf. The text is read on your computer, with no upload.
- Download progress. Files your browser is downloading show in the notch, with Open, Show in Finder, and Shelf when they finish.
- Both new features are on in the Everyday and Dev modes.
- Fixed: buttons in the small island's messages could do nothing, or something else. The last tab you had open stayed clickable underneath, even while the island was closed.
- Messages after a click ("Text copied", errors) now show on the small island too, instead of only when it's open.
Updating from 0.8: install over it; your clipboard history, reminders, and settings stay. Smart screenshots and download progress are on in the Everyday and Dev modes; on your own mix, switch them on in Modes. To answer Claude Code's permission requests from the notch, click Connect again under Claude Code in the AI tab once.
On a Mac, the first time download progress looks at your Downloads folder, macOS asks for permission. Click Allow.

Gentra Island v0.8.1
- Fixed: a browser video stuck on the island. After you close the tab that was playing, a paused video on another open page (a Threads or Instagram post, say) no longer shows as now playing. Browser videos show once they have actually played, and a player that doesn't respond to Play within 3 seconds is hidden until it plays again.
- Fixed: a large, empty island. If macOS paused the island's animation (it does that to windows it thinks are hidden), the island could freeze at the open size while showing a small message. It now jumps to the right size instead.
New in 0.8: see when Claude Code or Codex needs you, gentle reminders to take breaks and drink water, and a small island that stays inside the notch. See 0.8.0.
