README
WinBind - Powerhouse of Productivity and Customization!
Welcome to WinBind! It is a neat, sleek application, allowing you to set up the most productive shortcuts you want, allowing you to load different customizations for different moods.
AI declaration
I thereby declare that the project is using AI or other Chatbot/Neural Network type bases for boilerplate, code and some logic. I also comply and agree that this project has used AI in the ratio 30:70 or lesser than 30%, ensuring fairness and compliance to the event.
Here are some places where I used AI:
- CSS (very little)
- CPP code (mostly only in keybind)
- HTML (very little)
Here are some places I didn't use AI:
- Logic (mostly)
- Ideas on large
- Documentations (only DEVLOPER_GUIDE.md has a little bit)
Need a visual proof?
Here is a short video showing the power that WinBind has, within just 1 .conf file.

What is WinBind?
WinBind is both a customization and productivity tool, that helps your workflow feel more balanced, candyeyed and productive, it starts feeling like... you.
You can do multiple things with WinBind, such as:
- Make KeyBinds and other productive shortcuts
- Steal Focus out of windows
- Make windows translucent
- Apply various style to windows
- Add more features to your usual windows than before
- Load Other Configurations at ONE shortcut
- Change theming for windows(useful if you have another .conf)
All of this is AT your power if you touch the .conf file and read the docs.
Contribution
You are free to contribute to this project. This project is completely open-source and free-for-use.
Market Competitors
One thing that I found simmilar to my project is a very well known project, AutoHotKey.
While I admit it is a very powerful project, and can do MUCH beyound this utility, the main thing that makes my project completely distinct is the configuration. AutoHotKey Script at one point, becomes coding. It's no longer a simple file users can understand and comprehend.
My script wins in that case. It is simple, easy, well documented, and easy to use.
Sponser
For now, there is no sponsering set for the project. If you want to really sponser, I suggest you instead contribute to the project and share the project to everyone else. I think that would be enough for sponsering my project.
Minimum Requirements
My project requires
- As new as possible, version of Windows 11. Without that, some of the features will silently fail.
- Basic core specs required for Windows 11
This project is NOT compatible with:
- Windows 10 and below
Please don't try to run it on Windows 10. ~90-100% of the features will be missing.
Compile from Source Code
I have used MinGW's GCC. You can use the same.
In build.bat, change the GXX to your GCC path. Or if GCC is in your path, remove the line.
This allows manual code compilation. Easy and Simple.
Features coming up next
[30/7/2026] - I think, I will try to connect something to the configrations, some storage provider, and then store and let people post their configurations. I will also try to implement DND (it might seem simple, but in reality, Microsoft blocked all ways of doing it.), and more features that might give this project a little bit of uplift. I will also try my best to merge the Common_Features and Background Music. Let me see what can be done. It is a hard thing to tell what is next. Microsoft keeps adding and removing API's. It's very hard to tell what is next but whatever it is, it will be very useful to you guys. The first thing I will start after all of this is, merging. I will try to make it as easy and powerful it can be. Thanks for reading!
Where to start?
Go to the site and then the docs page and then read and learn.
It is straightforward and easy.
How to install?
In the zip folder, run install.bat, ignore the warnings and continue. That's it.
It will be in:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\
The .conf, if wanted to be edited will be in:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\winbind.conf
You can use most prefrably VSCODE (or VSCODIUM), or if that is not possible, use Notepad itself to edit.
Any text editor will do the job.
You can use the documentation from the site given above OR you can enter in github /docs/md/, where all the docs are stored
For the stardance ppl ✨
Pls give me as good ratings! It took me a lot of time to complete this project and make it useable. It is also my first project for stardance! Thanks.
Notes on the release
