Aether integration
First release of the Aether-enabled fork of pi-web-access. This package layers Aether UI and runtime integration on top of the upstream project so the web search, source verification, and content extraction tools work first-class inside Aether.
What's included
- Pi extension (
index.ts) — the full upstream pi-web-access toolset:web_search,source_check,fetch_content,get_search_content, plus GitHub cloning, YouTube/local video understanding, PDF extraction, and 20 search providers. - Aether Script Mod (
aether.ts) — a native Settings page organized into sub-pages (categories):- Provider — default routing plus the selected provider's credential and options; switching the default provider swaps the visible fields while other providers' saved values are preserved.
- Context Extraction — GitHub, YouTube, local video, PDF, and Firecrawl options.
- Privacy and network — browser cookies, SSRF exceptions, and fetch domain policy.
- Web-search completion, errors, curator, and Gemini account events rendered as cards in the Aether transcript, plus a composer "Research on the web" action.
- Aether Native Mod (
native/mod.dex) — semantic running/completed titles for the default web tools in Aether's tool cards.
Install
Download pi-web-access-aether-0.18.0-aether.1.zip and import it in Aether via Settings → Extensions → Import extension. Installing or updating the Native Mod requires restarting Aether.
Notes
- Settings changes are written atomically to the existing Pi
web-search.jsonwhile preserving unrelated fields. - Existing credentials are never copied into Aether extension storage or shown back in the form; credential fields accept replacement values only.
- This fork tracks the upstream project; provider behavior and Pi-side features come from upstream.
