Bowling Group
- The connection between the inspiration (statue) and the product itself is unclear
- The example of two users in two different places sharing an interactive experience is cool.
Futurecasting Group
- For graffiti to take the most advantage of the 3D space, it would be very powerful to be able to use occlusion to put the user or view in the middle of the 3D graffiti – though this may be a huge technical challenge, the payoff could be huge.
- There is something interesting in the way the demo turned into tracking someone movement in the building and going through the walls, and this opens interesting possibilities to pivot the concept. For example, it would be interesting what could be learned from watching someone go inside the building from the point of view of someone standing outside and what it could reveal about the building.
- I think a place worth exploring is the role of time in your project, with the passing of time would all the graffiti remain as they were when they were done because we are in a virtual world or would they feel the effect of time as they would in the physical world? In both cases I think it can be interesting to think about the layering of the graffiti, could it be possible to interact with them and bring to surface one we choose to see it in its complexity or would the new layer erase what is below (as it happens in the physical world)?
T-Shirt Group
- Consider thinking about new shapes - thicker lines etc - could change the effect and feel of drawing
- It was a lot of fun to see being able to walk through someone’s paint marks, the experience is very immersive and engaging. I would consider some usability improvements - maybe clearly marking which ipad does the painting and which ipad is for the other person, as well as bigger text to indicate which screen you’re on (or when you’re trying to pick the color
- Their is a potential photography angle that could be explored here. Live annotations and a feature to record what you’re drawing could be very engaging.
Cult
Storybook
- Introduce a time element to the graffiti being left.
- The experience would get more fun with more users being involved.
- Would it be possible to control the amount of colour poured based on how the user moves and lingers in one place?
DataTrail
- Would be really cool if you could retain drawing between sessions.
- Think of how a device can be an eraser --- erasing as a creative tool.
- Choose a canvas. Is it walls or a statue or existing structure or is it empty space.
- Maybe test it with a street artist to get new ideas / have them "deface" a statue.
- What is the UI element to show where paint is going? (brush?)
Touch
- Really good proof of the technology working, the baseline interaction was clear. The collaboration aspect is fun, and encourages exploration.
- The way it was presented, where we were encouraged to just draw, made it feel like a drawing app, more than a project about vandalism. Perhaps looking at erasing lines, or providing lines that are already there before you present.
- Watching people draw in real-time
