Aider not recognized as command in Windows cmd prompt

Hi,

I'm trying to follow the getting started instructions. After installing aider and setting my open ai key, I try to run aider hello.js

But, at this step, I get a message indicating that aider isn't recognized as a command.

I'm on a Windows machine.

I got the same issue, I already installed several times, assisted with ChatGPT4 and still cant make it run.

hey , did you run "pip install aider-chat" ? Try running that and see once you activate the conda environment you are working in.

Yes, I ran "pip install aider-chat" each time I tried the installation process. I still can't get it working. Thanks!

I have the same issue. Followed the installation instructions, but I get the following error when I try to use it:

'aider' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Unfortunately that means there is a problem with your local python environment. That's pretty tough for me to help debug.

I also face the same problem. This message appears when I try to find out which model I have

Did you follow the install instructions? In particular did you pip install aider-chat not just aider?

You can try running python -m aider.main as well.

I have followed the steps

First, I opened Smdr and went to the file containing the project I wanted to work on and try Aider

then I run this command line
pip install aider-chat
The downloading process completed without any problems

Then I exported the API of Gemini Pro
using this command

setx OPEAN_API_KEY AIzaSyAVpkoVk6TvtMk1nOY4KsvPnNZcXTprG_4

SUCCESS: Specified value was saved.

Then you write this command line knowing which models are available to it and the API works correctly.
aider --models openai/

But the problem appears to me like this

'aider' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Is there a step I overlooked?
