Cockroach Browser 0.1.0

Give AI agents a browser they can use without inheriting the whole machine.

Cockroach Browser is a local-first TypeScript runtime for authorized browser sessions, compact semantic snapshots, evidence capture, an authenticated loopback API, MCP, Docker, and explicit Maqam policy hooks.

Included

  • Headed and headless Chromium, CDP attachment, custom executables, isolated named profiles, explicit storage import/export, operator-supplied proxies, locale, and timezone controls
  • Multi-tab work, navigation, snapshot-scoped references, forms, clicks, hover, focus, bounded scroll, drag, waits, open Shadow DOM, same-origin iframes, policy-gated JavaScript, uploads, and controlled downloads
  • Screenshots, PDF, traces, HAR, video, console, network records, extraction, content-addressed evidence, and hash-chained receipts
  • Accessibility, performance, broken-asset, console, security, and visual audits
  • Challenge detection with authorized human handoff
  • Origin allowlists, private-network blocking, effect policy, finite budgets, exact action approvals, and secret references
  • TypeScript SDK, CLI, authenticated HTTP, observation-first MCP, Docker, local dashboard, jobs, health checks, and authenticated remote-worker mode
  • Explicit adapters for Maqam, Qarinah, Cockroach Crawler, and ProductLoop OS

The capability registry contains 63 entries: 55 built in, 6 adapter-backed, and 2 clearly marked roadmap items.

Install

npm install cockroach-browser
npx cockroach-browser setup
