New Options
-
DeepArrowheadShuffle: Add Deep Arrowhead checks and shuffle the Dowsing Rod and extra Arrowhead Bundles into the item pool. Deep Arrowhead locations must be dug up from the ground using the Dowsing Rod and will set a shorter 10-minute (unpaused in-game time) respawn time after being dug up for the first time. Digging up a Deep Arrowhead again, after waiting for it to respawn, will award arrowheads like normal and set the normal 30-minute respawn time. The Deep Arrowheads found under the Lake are not affected by this option.
-
MentalCobwebShuffle: Add Mental Cobweb checks and shuffle an extra PSI Card into the item pool for each Mental Cobweb. Mental Cobweb locations must be collecting using the Cobweb Duster. Collecting a Mental Cobweb will not add it to Raz's inventory, so the loom in Ford's Sanctuary will have no use.
-
StartingCobwebDuster: Start with the Cobweb Duster.
Major Changes
- The Lungfish Boss has been added as a new location. The boss can be accessed from the Lake using the Bathosphere, and will teleport the player back to the docks after completing the boss. The reward will then spawn where the Bathosphere used to be.
- The Super Palm Bomb upgrade has been added to the item pool with a custom badge! Charge up your Palm Bomb by mashing the attack button!
- PsiChallengeMarkers in the shop are now twice as expensive, going from 100->200 arrowheads.
Minor Changes
- Lootbox Vaults have been nerfed again. The base range of arrowheads has been decreased from 10-75-> 10-50, Rank Up rewards remain unchanged.
- AP items are no longer collected while in-game cutscenes are playing, to prevent potential issues.
- "Sasha's Button" is now part of the RandomStartingMinds pool, and will unlock access to the GPC immediately if collected in CASA.
- The Squirrel in the GPC will now drop the item he's holding if you approach him with Invisibility, allowing Vaults and Brain Jars to be broken easily.
- Several progression items now play the "YouWin" sound effect when collected to signify their importance.

Download the psychonauts.apworld and place inside your Archipelago/lib/worlds folder
-
Open the Archipelago Launcher and run the Psychonauts Client. If you get an error message saying the root_directory could not be found, follow steps 4-5. Otherwise, skip to step 6.
-
Find the folder that contains your Psychonauts and Astralathe installation, and copy the folder directory. For example, the most common place for the Steam version is "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\Psychonauts"
-
Run ArchipelagoLauncher.exe and open host.yaml from the Archipelago Launcher, find the psychonauts_options and paste your psychonauts game directory into the root_directory setting between the quotes. If the root directory contains single slashes between lines, change all of these to double slashes. If you don't, the client will fail to open
-
Click "Generate Template Settings". This will open file explorer
Find "Psychonauts.yaml" and copy it to /Players/ (create this folder if it does not exist) -
Open the YAML file and change the line that says "name: Player{number}" to your desired player name.
Adjust the settings in the YAML to your liking -
Run ArchipelagoGenerate.exe
-
Take the newly created AP_XXX.zip file in /output/ in upload it here: https://archipelago.gg/uploads

Unzip the AP_XXX.zip file. Find the zipped file containing your player number and name, and unzip it. This contains a file called RandoSeed.lua
-
Find your Psychonauts game directory and open /ModResource/PsychoRando/Scripts
-
Paste RandoSeed.lua from your generated Archipelago file into this folder. Replace the file in the destination if needed.
-
Run AstralatheLauncher.exe to open the game. You should see your player number and name on the menu screen, along with your current randomizer version.
-
From the menu, enter the yellow door to start a new game.
-
From the Archipelago Launcher, open the Psychonauts Client and connect to your server hosted on archipelago.gg
-
Once you've started a new save file and connected to the server, you can start playing!
