EasySave 3.0 - Release Notes

馃殌 New Features & Improvements

馃攧 Parallel Backup Execution

  • Backup tasks now run in parallel, eliminating sequential mode.

馃搨 Priority File Management

  • Non-priority files cannot be backed up while priority extensions are pending in any backup job.
  • Users can define priority extensions in the general settings.

馃毇 Parallel Transfer Limitation for Large Files

  • To prevent bandwidth saturation, two large files (size > n KB) cannot be transferred simultaneously. (n KB is configurable).
  • While a large file is transferring, other jobs can still transfer smaller files, respecting the priority rule.

鈴笍 Real-time User Interaction

Users can control each backup task (or all tasks) in real-time:

  • Pause: Effective after the current file transfer completes.
  • Play: Starts or resumes a paused task.
  • Stop: Immediately stops the backup job and its current task.
  • Users can track progress with a real-time percentage indicator.

鈴革笍 Automatic Pause When Business Applications Are Running

  • If a business application is detected running, all backup tasks automatically pause.
  • Backups resume as soon as the application is closed.
  • Example: If the Calculator app is open, all backup jobs pause.

馃寪 Remote Monitoring Console

A new GUI-based remote monitoring console allows users to:

  • Track backup progress in real-time from a remote workstation.
  • Interact with backup tasks (pause, resume, stop).
  • Communication is handled via Sockets.

馃敀 CryptoSoft Mono-Instance Enforcement

  • CryptoSoft can now only run as a single instance per computer.
  • Necessary changes have been made to handle potential conflicts with this restriction.

馃搲 Dynamic Reduction of Parallel Backups Based on Network Load (Optional)

  • An option is available to reduce parallel backup jobs if high network load is detected.

馃搶 Important Notes

  • Ensure priority extensions are configured in the general settings for optimal backup performance.
  • Network load-based backup reduction is optional and can be enabled in settings.
  • Remote monitoring requires a properly configured socket connection.

This release introduces major improvements for backup efficiency, user control, and network optimization. 馃殌
