- Data sizes are now always stored internally as bits using
BigIntegerinstead ofdoublewith variable units, to avoid loss of floating-point precision. - Supported units augmented to include zetta-, yotta-, ronna-, and quettabits/quettabytes, instead of topping out at exabits/exabytes.
- Because data sizes are now stored without an associated extrinsic unit, even if you construct an instance for a size such as 4 megabytes, it won't persist the fact that you specified megabytes at construction time. Therefore, if you later require this same exact unit instead of auto-scaling the value, then you must pass the unit again, such as when formatting to a string.
- Added lots of numeric operations for equality, comparison, and arithmetic, especially with the
INumberinterface enabled in the .NET 8 target. - Added data size parser, to convert a string into a
DataSize. - Added convenience extension property to get a file's size as a
DataSizeby callingFileInfo.FileSize.
