2.9.0 - Companion Controls, Gender Breeding, and Embedded Telemetry - 2026-05-04

Added

  • Added /tw showspawnmarkers [radius|off] to render nearby loaded Hytale spawn markers with bright-pink player-local debug shapes and print marker IDs, NPC options, positions, spawn counts, manual-trigger status, and suppression state.
  • Added /tw deletespawnmarker [range] to delete the closest loaded spawn marker in the player's view path, clear the source block marker component when available, and report the marker ID, NPC options, and position.
  • Added optional gender support to TwBreedingConfig so modders can require male/female breeding pairs, preserve gender through growth/spawner metadata, show gender in linked panels and spawner tooltips, and use gender-aware random name pools.
  • Added a /tw settings toggle for companion breeding genders, enabled by default, so server owners can disable gender assignment and gender-aware breeding checks without editing assets.
  • Added a /tw settings toggle to disable recall/return-home teleporting, hiding Recall actions while disabled, plus a linked-panel Locate action that opens a copyable current or last recorded companion location page.
  • Added TameworkProgressionTimeScales so integrations can apply per-world progression time multipliers for systems such as breeding timers, with cleanup when worlds are removed.

Changed

  • Switched Tamework to the shared embedded Alec's Telemetry runtime dependency instead of carrying the runtime sources directly in the mod.
  • Moved /tw settings telemetry persistence into universe/Tamework/Settings/tamework-settings.json, with legacy crash telemetry opt-out files imported without deleting them.

Fixed

  • Fixed /tw npcspawntamed attachment overrides being replaced by the NPC's initial random attachment choice after the sync system ran.
  • Fixed linked companion respawn, lost-recovery, and auto-link record writes so Locate keeps the known world name immediately after a replacement link is created.
  • Fixed legacy telemetry settings imports, including old telemetry paths, migration roots, and text boolean values from earlier builds.
  • Fixed custom NPC names staying visible while a player is mounted by making mounted-name hiding and restoration self-correct during world ticks.
