Beacon v2.0.4
2.0.4 - Update Checker Compatibility Hotfix - 2026-10-13
- Added Beacon's CurseForge project ID to the standalone manifest so update checkers can identify its project without a manual mapping.
- Keep the project ID configured during Gradle manifest generation.
Beacon v2.0.3
2.0.3 - Player Ready Performance Hotfix - 2026-10-04
-
Removed mod archive discovery from player-ready handling to reduce join and world-transfer stalls. Discovery runs during startup, including for standby Beacon providers.
-
Reduced consent review checks to one file read per check instead of rereading it for each reviewed project.
-
Added Hytale Update 7 compatibility, including the
0.7.0-pre.4pre-release, while retaining Update 5 and Update 6 support.
Beacon v2.0.2
2.0.2 - UI Texture Hotfix - 2026-09-11
Fixed
- Reduced the consent and report header texture's pixel area by 97.6% to save
UI atlas space while preserving its decorative corners and borders.
Beacon v2.0.1
2.0.1 - Consent Menu Hotfix - 2026-09-05
Fixed
- The consent menu's Enabled checkbox now switches all supported telemetry
types in its row on or off and stays checked while any type is selected. - Selecting a telemetry type re-enables a disabled project. Turning off the
final selected type disables the project, including changes made through
the column-wide controls. - Projects without telemetry types retain their project-level Enabled toggle.
- Centered the Beacon icon artwork in the consent menu.
Beacon v2.0.0
2.0.0 - Beacon Rename - 2026-09-01
Breaking
- Renamed the runtime, standalone mod, and hosted product to Beacon. The
namespace changed fromcom.alechilles.alecstelemetryto
com.alechilles.beacon; there is no namespace compatibility layer. - Renamed Maven and Gradle coordinates to
beacon-parent,beacon-runtime,
andbeacon. The Maven repository is now
https://beacon.modstats.io/maven/releases. - Renamed the Hytale dependency from
Alechilles:Alec's Telemetry!to
Alechilles:Beacon. - Renamed conventional descriptors from
Server/Telemetry/project.jsonto
Server/Beacon/project.json, and namespaced descriptors from
META-INF/alecs-telemetry/projects/toMETA-INF/beacon/projects/. - Kept the old conventional and namespaced descriptor paths as deprecated
fallbacks. The Beacon path wins when both forms are present. - Updated embedded bootstrap imports and packaging to the Beacon namespace.
Embedded consumers must still publish the runtimeCommon/**asset pack. - Renamed
/telemetryto/beaconand its permission prefix to
beacon.command.beacon. There is no command alias. - Changed the hosted origin to
https://beacon.modstats.io. The
/ingest/crash,/ingest/event, and/ingest/reportroute names remain. - Kept the hosted/self project ID and public stats route
alecs-telemetryso
existing project history and local consent state remain attached to the same
identity. The project display name is nowBeacon. - Changed the canonical local data root to
mods/Alechilles_Beacon/. The first Beacon startup performs a copy-only
migration from known Alec-created roots, keeps old sources, and uses Beacon
destinations when both copies exist.
See the Beacon 2.0 migration guide
before upgrading a consumer or embedded mod.
Alec's Telemetry! v1.3.0
1.3.0 - Diagnostic Bundles - 2026-08-30
Added
- Added a general project API for bounded diagnostic bundles with opaque text or
binary attachments. - Added automatic issue grouping through a project-defined stable fingerprint.
Changed
- Diagnostic bundles use the normal hosted event route and local event queue.
They remain separate from player-written manual reports and review workflows. - Diagnostic bundles use the independent
diagnosticsconsent category, shown
asDiag. Diagnostics is off by default unless a descriptor explicitly sets
defaultEnabled: true; Error events consent does not enable or disable it.
Bundles still reject attributes that are nested or exceed the bounded scalar
limits.
Alec's Telemetry! v1.2.3
1.2.3 - Runtime Version Stamp Hotfix - 2026-08-30
Fixed
- Maven and shaded hosts now report the concrete runtime version.
Alec's Telemetry! v1.2.2
1.2.2 - Stable 0.6 Compatibility Hotfix - 2026-08-27
Changed
- Updated the embedded Creditor library to 1.1.1 for stable Hytale 0.6 support.
Fixed
- Corrected the embedded-runtime packaging guide and example manifest so hosts
publish the TelemetryCommon/**UI assets required by/telemetry consent.
Alec's Telemetry! v1.2.1
1.2.1 - Upload Scheduler Hotfix - 2026-08-14
Changed
- Telemetry uploads now run on isolated virtual threads instead of Hytale's
shared scheduler. Slow upload responses no longer delay unrelated scheduled
server tasks. - Updated the privacy policy to describe anonymous ModStats chart-view and
refresh events.
Fixed
- Coordinated shutdown with active uploads to prevent duplicate delivery
attempts and lingering upload tasks during runtime handoff. - Corrected the standalone Telemetry credit asset key so its logo resolves in
the credits UI.
Alec's Telemetry! v1.2.0
1.2.0 - Passive Descriptor Projects - 2026-08-12
Added
- Embedded libraries can declare a namespaced telemetry project descriptor
without packaging or calling the Telemetry runtime. An installed standalone
or embedded runtime discovers the project and reports consented Stats
heartbeats for it. - An active contribution can upgrade the same passive project with more
telemetry categories. New categories stay disabled until the player reviews
them, and the player receives an in-game review notice. - Added logical project versions, descriptor hashes, source provenance, and a
manual host fixture for passive descriptor validation.
Changed
- Passive descriptors expose Stats only until an active contribution supplies
more capabilities. Duplicate copies use owner, project version, source, and
host data to elect one logical project. - Telemetry discovery refreshes after all server plugins load. Descriptor-only
projects are available before a player joins. - Hytale administrators can use the Telemetry commands without a separate
Telemetry permission assignment.
Fixed
- Preserved saved consent overrides when a passive project later becomes an
active contribution. - Rejected conflicting owner identities and invalid contribution descriptor
hashes before project election. - Kept Telemetry commands registered while projects refresh, and detected
command registration failures instead of reporting a false success. - Preserved enum detail allowlists when descriptors move through the embedded
contribution bridge. This prevents valid contributions from blocking runtime
activation and making all/telemetrycommands unavailable.
