New Features & Improvements

• New PAL and JPN builds — Added dedicated builds for playing the PAL and JPN ROM versions. (Available to install from GitHub.)
• Anisotropic filtering — Added a new Anisotropic option to the graphics settings. (Merged from the PC port.)
• Mipmap & texture improvements — Added mipmap and texture clamping support, along with bot-related fixes. (Merged from the PC port.)
• Spy gadget rendering on AMD GPUs — Fixed the rendering of the CamSpy, BombSpy, and DrugSpy on AMD graphics cards. (Not confirmed yet — please test and report if you still encounter issues.)

I tried the first VR release and it was pretty rocky, with alot of fov distortion. Finally got around to trying the new build today, and I'm SOOOOO happy that those problems are resolved (Not sure when they were resolved, as I havn't been paying attention).

Perfect Dark plays AMAZINGLY well on Quest now. It's really becoming a must-have VR experience! Sneaking around corners, head-shotting enemies with the pistol, really makes you feel like a secret agent! In some ways, it's feeling more like Perfect Dark than it did on the n64.

I'm also really appreciating the QOL additions like snap turning, seated mode, etc. It's really starting to feel like a first-class VR experience.

Remaining issues I'd love to see resolved:

• Weapons clipping through walls
• Adding a 2-handed grip system for weapons

I've only played the first level so far, so I haven't tried the scoped weapons yet. But I'm really enjoying the experience so far!

Actually, now I'm noticing that the game DOES have 2-handed weapon grips, but the feature appears to be broken in this release. Looking forward to trying it when it's working properly!

The two-handed grip is supposed to be working properly. What issue are you running into exactly?

I got further in the game today, and two handed weapons are working good for shotguns and rifles. It's just the pistols that it's behaving strangely.

When I try to two-hand grip the pistol, the left hand doesn't lock onto the gun, but instead seems to lock to my head movements.

I'm on Quest 3, btw.

Pistols aren't supposed to be held with two hands. Only rifles and shotguns support two-handed grip.

Is there any chance of getting a native port for the Pico Neo 3? I'm currently using the PCVR version with this headset, but the weapons aren't properly aligned with the controllers and end up pointing downward. Would a native port be necessary to fix this, or could it be solved by adding an option in the game to adjust the weapons' position and orientation? Are there any other possible solutions?

There probably won't be a native port for the Pico Neo 3, but I might be able to fix the controller alignment for that headset. I could either add a specific fix for the weapon position and rotation on the Pico Neo 3 or, ideally, add a menu to let users adjust the position and orientation themselves.

First off, thank you for this incredible VR offering. It is a wonderful new way to enjoy an older game.

Starting on V2.0, I've started having problems with the standalone Quest 3 apk booting up. The Quest 3 will just hang at the Loft screen, and eventually I had to perform a hard shutdown before being able to do anything.

Eventually, I discovered I somehow deleted the game ROM.

Re-inserting the ROM on my quest (sdcard/ROMS/N64) using the default ROM name (e.g., Perfect Dark (USA) (Rev1).z64) did not resolve the situation.

I uninstalled everything via SideQuest and tried re-installing using different apk versions (from V1.9.1.beta to the most recent release). mostly with no success.
Every so often, the game would boot up correctly while connected to my PC through SideQuest (e.g., I could play the game and even download the HD graphic pack) but attempts to restart the game whether connected to the PC or standalone would leave me stranded at the loft screen.

I've not had any issue in booting up other apks in Unknown Sources (e.g., 007 Golden Eye, Astrobot, Sega Rally Championship).

After unsuccessful attempts, I've noticed 2 things:

• On SideQuest/Apps, Perfect Dark is always listed as V1.0, regardless of which version apk I've loaded.
• On SideQuest/sdcard/Android/data/com.perfectdark.port, both the file and data folders are empty.

I was wondering if you might have any advice on troubleshooting.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure what could be causing this, so I can't offer much help. I can only suggest trying some basic troubleshooting steps, such as making sure your Quest 3 firmware is up to date, uninstalling the game completely, and downloading the latest APK directly from GitHub before reinstalling it.

Thanks for responding. I had tried everything you suggested, but nothing worked.
I've stumbled across a solution (?) purely by accident, but here it is:

While I still have the primary issue of being stuck on the Loft screen when first booting up the game, a quick press on the power button to shut off the display and then a quick press to turn the screen back on brings me back to the Main Menu.

I wish I knew how to explain it.
