ChatGPT Timekeeper v0.1.3-preview.2
ChatGPT Timekeeper v0.1.3-preview.2
Preview notes prepared 2026-10-14. Extension version 0.1.3.
- Fix missing timestamps on supported formatted messages: bold/italic text, links, headings, lists, inline code and code blocks.
- Put a new rich-message timestamp in a plain paragraph with a blank line before the original body. Preserve all original text and formatting.
- Refresh a separate existing timestamp on an explicit retry without stacking prefixes.
- Keep a draft for manual review if a failed edit cannot be undone; never continue an unverified send automatically.
Local validation: 21 unit/source checks, 88 Firefox/Chromium browser fixtures, package verification, Mozilla lint with zero errors/warnings/notices and reproducible ZIP builds. A temporarily installed Firefox 0.1.3 package sent the supplied rich example on real ChatGPT with unchanged body markup and a received timestamp. Evidence and scope.
Chrome installation uses the Chromium ZIP: extract it, open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode and choose Load unpacked for the extracted folder containing manifest.json. No user build tools are needed. Firefox ZIPs are unsigned temporary development packages; permanent installation uses Mozilla Add-ons after a new version is submitted and published.
This remains a desktop preview. Stop active dictation before sending. Unsupported editor structures may send unstamped, and broader real-site IME/failure/undo acceptance is incomplete. The extension retains the native editor's undo grouping, which can combine a recent paste and stamping. No new permissions, telemetry or developer collection.
ChatGPT Timekeeper v0.1.2-preview.1
ChatGPT Timekeeper v0.1.2-preview.1
Desktop development preview, released 2026-10-14. Extension version: 0.1.2. This release provides a ready-to-load Chrome ZIP; users do not need Node.js, npm or a build step.
Changes since 0.1.0
- Shorter, readable timestamps:
[Local time: 2026-10-14 19:10:26 GMT+3]. The time-zone name stays in the popup. Both the new and older prefixes are recognized when refreshing a timestamp. - Original clock icons, popup version and source/support/privacy links, and an offline privacy policy.
- Explicit extension-page security restrictions and updated Firefox transmission disclosures.
- Permanent Firefox ID and desktop-only Firefox packaging. Firefox 0.1.2 is also publicly available as an experimental add-on on Mozilla Add-ons.
- GitHub Actions publishes the browser ZIPs and SHA-256 checksums after unit checks, browser fixtures, package validation, Mozilla lint and reproducibility checks pass.
The sending mechanism is unchanged from the earlier preview. This is an independent MIT-licensed project, without OpenAI affiliation or endorsement.
Install in Chrome
- Download chatgpt-timekeeper-v0.1.2-preview.1-chromium.zip from this release's assets and extract it into a folder you will keep.
- Open
chrome://extensionsand turn on Developer mode. - Click Load unpacked and select the extracted folder containing
manifest.json. - Reload your ChatGPT tab and send a message as usual.
Download the browser ZIP, rather than GitHub's Source code archives. Keep the extracted folder. Updates are manual: replace its contents with a later release, reload the extension, then reload ChatGPT. See the README.
For Firefox, use the Mozilla listing for permanent installation. The Firefox ZIP in these assets is an unsigned development package, loaded temporarily through about:debugging and removed on restart.
Evidence and limitations
The release workflow gates publication on hosted CI. Dated installed-browser evidence and its scope are recorded in FEASIBILITY.md and the Firefox submission record. Fixtures use controlled editors and invented prompts; they do not establish complete live-site compatibility.
- Stop active dictation before sending; sending during recording can omit the timestamp.
- Formatted/code-block messages have a reported missing-timestamp issue under investigation. Unknown rich editor layouts and unsupported Send controls may send unstamped; check the visible message after sending.
- Live-site IME, failure/retry and undo acceptance remain incomplete. ChatGPT interface changes and deprecated native editing can affect compatibility.
- Safari, mobile browsers and native apps are unsupported. Other Chromium browsers and Firefox's declared minimum version are unvalidated.
The extension saves only its on/off preference, makes no network requests, and keeps no chat history. The visible timestamp is sent to ChatGPT with the user's message. This release does not complete the production acceptance matrix or signed Firefox installation-consent check.
ChatGPT Timekeeper 0.1.0 — Preview 2
ChatGPT Timekeeper v0.1.0-preview.2
First public development preview, prepared on 2026-10-10. The initially pushed v0.1.0-preview.1 tag is retained as preparation history; its draft release was superseded after hosted CI exposed a test timing race. Extension version: 0.1.0. MIT licensed. Independent project; no OpenAI affiliation or endorsement.
Included
- Browser-local date/time, UTC offset and zone prefix for supported outgoing ChatGPT text drafts.
- One persisted on/off toggle, live tab updates and a popup clock preview.
- Anchored prefix refresh on explicit retry; original text preservation and one Send-button continuation, with no automatic submission retries.
- Shared Chromium/Firefox source, unsigned local testing packages, pinned development dependencies, source/fixture tests and CI.
- Fixture assertions wait for the scheduled Send continuation; exact-text and submission-count checks remain in place. Runtime extension code is unchanged from the prior installed-browser evidence.
- Focused Send-button Space/Enter continuation fix, with dated installed-extension evidence in the feasibility record.
Evidence and limits
The existing evidence records installed Firefox 157.0.1 and Chrome 153.0.8010.36 on macOS 27.0.1, including pointer Send, composer Enter, Unicode/code paste, Shift+Enter, toggles and navigation within the recorded scope. The focused-button fix was checked in both installed browsers. Controlled fixtures cover exact model text, selection/undo, failures/retries, pending gestures and changed-draft cancellation. See the full dated record, including earlier failed checks and their fixes. Local preview-preparation verification is recorded in the publication review.
This is not production-ready. The full real-site acceptance gate remains incomplete. IME, attachment-only, long-draft and failure/undo matrix checks remain pending; fixture passes do not replace those checks.
Send during active dictation is unsupported: Firefox was reported to send an unstamped message. Stop dictation, wait for the transcript to enter the ordinary composer, then Send. No active-dictation implementation work is included in this release preparation.
Unknown rich editor layouts, ambiguous composers, unavailable settings and unsupported/localized Send controls may send unstamped. The integration depends on changing ChatGPT DOM controls and deprecated native editing APIs. A draft changed before continuation is retained for review; a native change that cannot be undone is a release-blocking failure, not successful stamping. Edge/Brave/Opera are untested; Safari, mobile and native apps are outside the preview. The browser/device clock is the time source.
The extension makes no network requests and stores only enabled locally. The inserted timestamp is visible and travels to ChatGPT with the normal message.

Verify checksums, extract the matching ZIP into its own directory, then follow README installation instructions. Firefox is a temporary, unsigned add-on removed on browser restart. Chromium is loaded unpacked in Developer mode. There is no signed XPI or browser-store release, and the Firefox extension ID is provisional.
Hosted CI passed on the exact tagged commit b74f4c8944af5dbfd1f794b3764074f38cb1d620: Node 22/24 unit and source checks, all 64 Chromium/Firefox fixtures, package verification and reproducibility checks. View the tagged CI run. Both CI-produced browser archives and SHA256SUMS match the local release assets byte for byte. The earlier fixture timing failure is retained in the CI history; it was corrected before this public prerelease.
