TempCleaner v2.7
This update represents a major leap forward in application stability and transparency. It strictly focuses on building a robust, offline-capable architecture while maintaining absolute adherence to zero-telemetry privacy principles.
✨ What's New?
- Transparent Local Logging:
IntroducedTempCleaner_History.logto record cleanup tasks, timestamps, and the exact amount of space freed. This log is stored 100% locally, ensuring complete user privacy with zero data transmission. - UI History Tracker:
Updated the main user interface to display the most recent cleanup record directly beneath the title, providing instant feedback to the user without needing to manually open the log file. - Dynamic System Paths:
Completely eliminated hardcoded paths (likeC:\Windows) in favor of dynamic environment variables. This ensures the application runs flawlessly on any machine, regardless of which drive the OS is installed on. - Admin Privileges Enforced:
Integrated anapp.manifestfile to automatically request Administrator privileges upon launch. This guarantees the success of deep-system cleaning tasks, such as clearing the Prefetch folder and the Windows Update Cache. - Smart Exception Handling:
Refactored the error-handling architecture to gracefully bypass locked, in-use, or protected system files, preventing unexpected application crashes during the cleanup process.
⚙️ Under the Hood & Build Optimizations
- Single-File, Framework-Dependent Release:
Optimized the publish profile to embed all requiredDLLlibraries and configuration files into a single, lightweight executable (.exe). Weighing in at just ~1MB, it ensures fast downloads and effortless portability. - UI & Localization Polish:
Refined the Arabic/English localization dictionaries, adjusted XAML margins for a cleaner, more modern visual layout, and updated the developer identity metadata in the Dev Info modal.
