Paranoia 0.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 16 Oct 10:46

Paranoia 0.2.0 brings the core IDA Pro workflow to Paranoia.

Downloads

  • Paranoia-Setup-0.2.0.exe — Windows installer (per-user, no admin rights)
  • Paranoia-0.2.0-portable.exe — single-file portable build

Builds are not code-signed yet; Windows SmartScreen may ask for confirmation on first launch.

New

  • Code and data in one listing — db/dw/dd/dq, strings, offset pointers, extrn import slots, dup runs and XREF comments, like IDA's disassembly view
  • Auto names — aHelloWorld, byte_/word_/dword_/qword_…, off_… from how data is accessed
  • Item commands — Code (C), Data with size cycling (D), String (A), Undefine (U), Create function (P)
  • Switch tables — absolute, MSVC __ImageBase-relative and PIC tables become case edges in the graph
  • API prototypes — ~250 WinAPI / libc signatures label arguments (; lpFileName) and calls; pseudocode uses them for argument counts
  • Stack frame view — locals and arguments with sizes and read/write counts
  • Xrefs dialog (X), Names window, call graph with caller/callee depth, navigation band
  • Right-click menu — rename, comment, bookmark, xrefs, item commands, patches, open in graph / pseudocode / hex
  • Instruction patches — NOP, invert condition, force jump (x86/x64 and AArch64)
  • Undo / redo (Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y) for names, comments, items, functions and patches
  • Script console (Ctrl+` ) — JavaScript with the pn API: functions, names, xrefs, bytes, rename, comment, patch, goto, plus examples
  • Token highlight: click a register or name to highlight every occurrence

Fixes

  • Search finds auto-named data
  • Constants such as 0x80000000 are no longer shown as addresses

See the roadmap for parity status with IDA Pro and what comes next.

Paranoia 0.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Oct 17:52

First public release of Paranoia — an open, local-first reverse engineering platform.

Downloads

  • Paranoia-Setup-0.1.0.exe — Windows installer (per-user, no admin rights)
  • Paranoia-0.1.0-portable.exe — single-file portable build

Builds are not code-signed yet; Windows SmartScreen may ask for confirmation on first launch.

Highlights

  • PE, ELF and Mach-O loading (universal binaries, chained fixups, forwarders, TLS callbacks)
  • x86, x86-64 and AArch64 disassembly with IDA-style labels, jump arrows and annotations
  • Control-flow graphs, pseudocode view (x86/x64), cross references and callees
  • MSVC / Itanium / Rust demangling; rename, comments, bookmarks — saved per file hash
  • Byte-pattern, text and immediate search; hex view with patching and "save patched file"
  • Triage: hashes, imphash, entropy map, section map, checksec-style mitigations
  • Create functions, re-run analysis, export to IDA IDC
  • Light "ivory" and dark "warm graphite" themes; private by design — no accounts, no telemetry
