Release list
Foner 0.1.0
The first release of Foner, a KDE dialler that makes and receives calls through a phone paired over Bluetooth.
What it does
- Dial, answer and end calls, also from a desktop notification.
- Mute the microphone, set the speaker level, send keypad tones, and pull the call audio onto this computer.
- Read the contacts and the call history from the phone, and keep them on disk.
- Search contacts by name, by number, or by keypad letters.
- Import and export vCard files.
- Keep running in the system tray, and open
tel:links from other applications.
Requirements
Foner needs PipeWire 1.4 or newer with its telephony module, BlueZ, and a phone that is paired and connected over the hands-free profile. The build needs Qt 6.5 and KDE Frameworks 6.8.
Install
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AminBlg/foner/main/scripts/install.sh | shArch users can also build packaging/PKGBUILD, which fetches this tag.
Known limits
- Only one phone on Arch Linux with Plasma was tested.
- Two calls at once, service codes and vCard export are built, but nobody tested them against a phone yet.
- Keyboard-only operation is incomplete. The keypad keys are not reachable with Tab.
