v0.4.1 — Steady connection

  • Fixed: "wrapped C/C++ object of type QVBoxLayout has been deleted" popping up again and again on Windows: the cloud
panel in Sanctum kept listening to sync after it was rebuilt
  • Fixed: the + menu in the top bar (the new Quest Ledger entry crashed it)
  • Fixed: Reset everything could fail when the cloud was briefly unreachable. Now the device resets anyway and the cloud
copy is erased automatically on the next connection, before anything is downloaded, so the old journey can't come back
  • Steadier connection on both apps: every server call retries dropped connections, timeouts and busy-server answers
before giving up, and waits longer on slow links
  • Connection errors now say what actually failed (DNS / timeout / proxy / secure connection) instead of only "no internet"

v0.4.0 — Heralds

One shared cloud, sync you can trust, Stark Training, real notifications and a one-file Windows app.

Sync, fixed

  • Pull first, then push — like git. Every sync downloads the cloud's changes before uploading yours. A device that already
has a journey and signs in to an account that has one too now folds its copies of the same quests, arcs, notes, routines and
spells into the cloud's rows instead of duplicating them, then uploads only what is really new
  • XP and Mana are identical on every device. They used to be replayed step by step in timestamp order, so two devices could
disagree (e.g. 28 vs 68 Mana) after a sync. They are now the order-independent sum of the shared history
  • A safety backup is taken automatically before a first sync merges two journeys and before a sync deletes many rows
  • Tested desktop ↔ phone against one simulated cloud with both real engines

One shared cloud

  • The CodingFrieren server is built into the apps: nobody types a Supabase URL or key any more — just sign in or create an account.
Every account only ever sees its own rows (Row Level Security)
  • Watchtower has its own door (the eye on the sign-in screen, or Sanctum): an admin username and password that exist only on
the server. The old "first account becomes admin" rule is gone. Five wrong passwords lock the door for a while
  • Server hardening: oversized uploads are refused; every user has their own write lock, so many people syncing at once never wait
    for each other

Quests

  • Deleting an arc removes it completely: its quests, their steps and notes go with it, on every device
  • Quest Ledger (Journey → Ledger, or Ctrl+L): every quest in one list — search, filter by state and arc, tick many and complete,
start, re-prioritise, move to an arc, move to a day or remove them at once
  • Quick add in one line: Write the report !2 +3d tomorrow #Backend (priority, duration, start day, arc, ~ for no deadline)

Heralds & music

  • New notifications: an animated rune card that glides in at the corner of the screen (even while the app sits in the tray), with
Snooze / Done for reminders. On Android, real system notifications — note reminders and deadlines arrive even when the app is closed
  • Original epic sounds for notifications, reminders, completed and failed quests
  • Calm fantasy music: four new gentle pieces (harp, flute, choir, celesta) that loop softly while you work (Sanctum → Appearance)

Android

  • Stark Training: a test stopwatch — 2 minutes for the test (beep 1), analysis up to 5 minutes (beep 2), then the next test starts
after a 3-second countdown. Next when you finish early, Pause/Resume, live session average, today's average and a per-day history.
Limits are adjustable; the screen stays awake during a session
  • Grimoire now holds Notes, Spellcraft and Heiter's Counsel as tabs (fewer pages, room for new ones)
  • A livelier night sky: drifting parallax stars, aurora ribbons, rising mana motes, brighter meteors — still light on the battery

Windows

  • One file: CodingFrieren.exe contains everything (the MCP server too: CodingFrieren.exe --mcp). Copy it anywhere and run it —
no _internal folder. Or use the installer: Start menu + desktop shortcut, no admin rights, a normal uninstaller
  • Updates install themselves in place, for the installed and the portable copy alike; your data is never touched
  • 58 MB instead of a 160 MB folder

Releases now live in the public repo AmirItachi82/CodeFrieren (Windows installer, portable exe and Android APKs).
Install this version once over the old one; from here on updates come by themselves.

v0.3.0 — Companions

The first CodingFrieren for Android, the same version as the desktop app.

  • Every place of the desktop, in the same order: Journey, Star Chart, Arcs, Grimoire, Spellcraft, Heiter's Counsel, Mage Card,
Watchtower (admin) and Sanctum, plus Memories behind the Sanctum seal
  • The same Laws of the Journey, rewards and ranks as the desktop
  • Landscape, desktop-like layout with an adjustable interface size
  • Frieren splash, sign-in / create account, remembered sessions
  • Two-way sync with the desktop through Supabase: offline first, automatic catch-up, realtime updates from the PC, field-level
merges and a chooser for real conflicts
  • Updates from GitHub Releases, installed over the app without touching your data
  • Frieren's theme on start (Sanctum → Appearance)
