This is the initial Amnesty International Aotearoa New Zealand repository release of the Human Rights DAO pilot developed through Cardano Project Catalyst Fund 13, Project 1300018.
This release establishes the completed pilot as a permanent, citable and openly accessible body of research, software, governance design and institutional learning.

Repository transition
This repository is an institutional fork of the original Sugarlicks development repository. It preserves the complete development history while establishing Amnesty International Aotearoa New Zealand’s governance, stewardship, security and contribution framework for the project’s next phase.
Project status
The Human Rights DAO proof of concept and funded pilot are complete.
This release is a public-interest reference implementation and historical pilot record. It is not a production deployment, a live public DAO, a launched financial token or an indication that the system has been adopted across the wider Amnesty International movement.
Further development will require additional governance design, privacy-preserving identity work, independent security testing, legal and regulatory review, accessibility development, community engagement and institutional approval.
