Among Terminal 0.1.0 RC2

Ready-made preview packages for Debian 13 and Ubuntu 24.04, amd64 and arm64.
This is a prerelease, not a stable release.

Download and install

Choose the .deb matching both your distribution version and architecture:

System amd64 arm64
Ubuntu 24.04 Download Download
Debian 13 Download Download

Open a terminal in the download directory. For Ubuntu 24.04 on amd64:

sudo apt install ./among-terminal_0.1.0.rc.2-1.ubuntu24.04_amd64.deb

Use the exact downloaded filename for another target. APT installs runtime
dependencies from your configured distribution repositories. No Git, Rust,
Cargo or build scripts are needed. Launch Among Terminal from the applications
menu, or run /usr/bin/among. Plugins are disabled by default.

Install a newer matching .deb using the same apt install ./filename.deb
command, then close and relaunch the application. There is no Among APT
repository yet: apt upgrade does not download new Among releases automatically.

sudo apt remove among-terminal

Preferences, sessions and separately installed plugins remain in your home.
Removal does not remove other Snap, Cargo or source-built installations.

Checks and source materials

All four native build and installed-check jobs passed.
Installed checks used clean compiler-free containers, desktop launch and input,
focus/status/Sessions regressions, and synthetic older-package upgrade,
remove/reinstall/purge with user-state preservation. This is scoped X11/Xvfb
evidence, not full stable acceptance or GNOME/Wayland certification.

Tag: v0.1.0-rc.2; original build source commit: b484acdac3cfab0398ca756f08e6cedd4b5873d1.
Git author metadata was subsequently corrected. The tag now points to
ddeb6c081edc2104d24b44f7b0e7594a52b4ff20, with an identical source tree.
The packages, source archive, checksums and build receipts are unchanged and
continue to refer to the original build commit; no new build is implied.
source-association.json binds the four package hashes, checked source archive
and CI evidence. REBUILD.md explains source rebuilding and native-library
licensing. Native GTK/libadwaita/VTE libraries come from the distribution;
they are dynamically linked, not bundled into these DEBs.

The association is a derived summary, not an independently signed attestation.
Raw hosted receipts/logs remain in the linked Actions artifacts (downloading
artifacts requires a GitHub login); private assembly/source-binding diagnostics
are retained separately and are not release assets. Hosted builds fetch crates
online with locked checksums; the supplied vendor tree was prepared separately,
not used as the hosted build input. Its correspondence relies on Cargo.lock
checksums, not a demonstrated hermetic or byte-reproducible rebuild.

SHA256SUMS checks integrity; it is not a separate publisher signature.
No packages for other distributions, RPM, Flatpak or Snap Store are supplied
by this release. Embedded AppStream release version remains 0.1.0; the DEB
version and this release label distinguish RC2. Embedded metadata URLs still
point to the previous repository; use this repository for issues.
