Release list
MTTL Control 0.0.1 Alpha 4
MTTL Control 0.0.1 Alpha 4
This release refreshes Linux, Windows, and macOS builds and addresses the
AppImage catalog startup-language test.
Changes
- Fresh installations follow the system language: Arabic for Arabic systems,
English for English, unsupported, or unset languages. Saved choices still
take priority, including when changing between Arabic and English. - Initial page language, direction, and title agree with the React interface.
- Linux download names omit the redundant
linuxtoken. The AppImage is
MTTL-Control_0.0.1-alpha.4_amd64.AppImage. - Release publishing runs only in the public MTTL-W01_APP repository; the
development repository continues running Checks. - Windows setup and native Wi-Fi discovery from Alpha 3 are retained.
Installation and limitations
Download the installer for your operating system and verify it against
SHA256SUMS.txt. Linux builds use Ubuntu 22.04 and still require compatible
system libraries. Windows installers are unsigned; macOS builds use ad-hoc
signing without notarization. Automatic updates are not configured.
This remains an alpha release. Hardware commissioning and native behavior need
physical-device and operating-system testing. AppImage catalog acceptance
requires a successful retest after publication.
MTTL Control 0.0.1 Alpha 3
MTTL Control 0.0.1 Alpha 3
Windows-only update providing a clear path to add a strip after joining its setup Wi-Fi manually.
- Shows the setup Wi-Fi name and the password to join the strip, including when entering the SSID manually.
- Uses direct provisioning on Windows after the user connects, avoiding unsupported automatic network switching.
- Guides users through entering destination credentials, joining the strip, sending settings, returning to the destination network, and verifying a fresh controller connection.
- Supports continuing without scanning when already connected to the strip.
- Keeps the destination controller address and credentials through network changes. Avoids guessing the destination address when the app is opened on the strip's temporary network.
- Connection verification can be retried without sending setup commands again. Pairing steps and recovery instructions are available in Arabic and English.
Downloads
Windows x64 installers: -setup.exe and .msi. SHA256SUMS.txt contains checksums for both downloads. Windows requires WebView2; the installer can download it if missing. Installers are unsigned.
Linux and macOS downloads remain available in v0.0.1-alpha.1.
Add a strip on Windows
- While connected to your destination Wi-Fi, enter its SSID and password and this computer's IPv4 address on that network.
- Choose the strip. Open the Windows Wi-Fi menu and join its setup network using the password displayed in the app. Stay connected even if Windows reports no internet access.
- Return to the app and select I am connected — send settings. If already connected to a strip, use Already connected? Continue without scanning instead of rescanning.
- After the strip accepts the settings and restarts, reconnect the computer to the destination Wi-Fi.
- Select I reconnected — check connection. Keep the app running and allow its controller connection through Windows Firewall on your private network if needed.
Wi-Fi scanning may require location access in Settings > Privacy & security > Location. Manual setup can continue without scanning. Physical-device operation still needs hands-on verification on Windows.
See the README for remaining alpha limitations.
MTTL Control 0.0.1 Alpha 2
MTTL Control 0.0.1 Alpha 2
Windows-only update fixing Wi-Fi discovery for MTTL-W01 setup access points.
- Uses the native Windows WLAN API for a fresh scan, avoiding terminal flashes and localized console output parsing.
- Preserves Unicode network names and distinguishes access points sharing the same SSID.
- Shows English and Arabic recovery instructions for blocked location access, disabled Wi-Fi, missing adapters, and the WLAN AutoConfig service.
- Hides console windows during ARP discovery and saved-profile connections.
Downloads
Windows x64 installers: -setup.exe and .msi. SHA256SUMS.txt contains checksums for both downloads. Windows requires WebView2; the installer can download it if missing. Installers are unsigned.
This release does not include Linux or macOS builds. Use v0.0.1-alpha.1 for those platforms.
Wi-Fi discovery and setup
Enable Wi-Fi and the Windows WLAN AutoConfig service. If Windows denies scanning, enable Location services and app location access under Settings > Privacy & security > Location, then click Scan Wi-Fi again.
Automatic Wi-Fi switching remains Linux-only. On Windows, join the strip's setup access point manually before provisioning. Physical-device scanning and operation still need hands-on verification on Windows.
See the README for connection steps and remaining alpha limitations.
MTTL Control 0.0.1 Alpha
MTTL Control 0.0.1 Alpha
First public alpha of MTTL Control, a local desktop controller for LG U+ / TONLY MTTL-W01 smart power strips. This is an early release; expect bugs and incomplete platform verification.
- Four-outlet controls, device setup, live readings, and protection status.
- History, power comparison, CSV export, schedules, timed sequences, and monitoring rules.
- Local SQLite storage with data management and a protocol console.
- Arabic and English, RTL support, and light and dark themes.
- MIT-licensed source with bundled dependency and font notices.
Downloads
| System | Download |
|---|---|
| Linux x64 | .deb, .rpm, or .AppImage |
| Windows x64 | -setup.exe or .msi |
| macOS Apple Silicon | darwin_aarch64.dmg |
| macOS Intel | darwin_x64.dmg |
Linux packages require WebKitGTK 4.1. AppImages still depend on compatible system libraries. Windows requires WebView2; the installer can download it if it is missing. Mount the macOS DMG and drag the app into Applications. SHA256SUMS.txt contains checksums for the downloads.
Alpha limitations
Windows installers are unsigned. macOS apps use ad-hoc signatures and are not Apple-notarized. Your operating system may ask you to approve installation; see the installation instructions.
The release workflow runs automated checks on all four platforms before publishing downloads. Physical-device operation and the native interface still need hands-on verification on Windows and macOS. Automatic Wi-Fi switching is Linux-only; use manual device setup on Windows and macOS. Compatibility is based on reverse-engineered MTTL-W01 firmware 0.1.54-1.0.66.
Keep the app running for schedules and monitoring. The device protocol is plaintext and unauthenticated; use a trusted local network. The Linux dependency graph has two documented upstream advisories in SECURITY.md. Automatic app updates are not configured.
See the README for connection steps and device behavior.
