Welcome to AnClark's MultiROM distribution!

Introduction

Firstly, thanks to Tassadar. Without his sincere efforts, everyone could not make Android phones so smarter and more flexible like PC.

NOTICE, This is a sub distribution of Tassadar MultiROM, aka, an improved modified branch of Tassadar's original version. Also, this is a sub-sub-branch of Tassadar's, as this branch was also forked and improved for the port of Xiaomi Mi Max (hydrogen).

Why am I working with this modification?

Actually, Tassadar's MultiROM is still under construction, with the following problems:

  • Only supports several devices OFFICIALLY like Nexus.
  • Cannot support ENCRYPTION well. Tassadar developed trampoline_encmnt, a helper for mounting encrypted data partition while launching trampoline. But it cannot work at all due to immature implementation for hardware encryption (For example, Qualcomm's QSEECOM).
  • Not implemented for ARM64 platform, only legacy 32-bit by now. (Tassadar and contributor @zhuowei have already fixed it, but I haven't cherry-picked it yet).

Luckily, amount of developers loves MultiROM. By now, more and more devices can run MultiROM well, including Mi Max, the model I'm working with. (Thanks to @JackEagles with his friends!) But, their solution asked for an unencrypted phone.

So, time to make a change. That's why I'm making efforts here.

How to port/compile?

Official guides

Porting or compiling methods are as same as official. You can refer to Tassadar's official Wiki for help:

To make MultiROM work properly, these additial feature should not be ignored. Here are my own Wiki: - TODO: Writing more pages!

NOTICE

WARNING

Porting MultiROM is not an easy job. It requires that you spend amount of time and energy for debugging. So please be patient.

Also, don't forget to backup from time to time.
