gamedacctl 0.1.0
Pre-releaseFirst experimental public release of gamedacctl, an independent Linux lighting controller for the original SteelSeries GameDAC and wired Arctis Pro.
Highlights:
- Native Rust CLI and GTK4/libadwaita application
- Independent Steady earcup and microphone-state colors
- Verified two-color ColorShift and one-to-four-color Multi Color Breathe
- Connected single-color Sweep and guarded exact-capture research replay
- Saved profiles, optional profile icons, and opt-in reconnect restoration
- Machine-readable status/profile API for the separate Omarchy panel
- Narrow udev access limited to USB device 1038:1280 interface 00
Arch Linux installation:
- Download gamedacctl-0.1.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst and SHA256SUMS.
- Verify the downloaded package with sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS --ignore-missing.
- Install it with sudo pacman -U ./gamedacctl-0.1.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst.
- Reconnect the GameDAC once so the packaged udev rule applies.
The binary package was built from the attached checksum-pinned Cargo source archive using the attached PKGBUILD. It is not cryptographically signed; verify SHA256SUMS before installation.
Compatibility is intentionally narrow: only the original GameDAC USB control identity 1038:1280 with the original wired Arctis Pro has been physically verified. GameDAC Gen 2, Arctis Nova, wireless products, other USB identities, and multiple-device selection are unsupported. The application reports successful writes, not firmware readback.
