We assume that on registration (add to client database) customer is obliged to provide a working e-mail address that is being validated on registration. Only appropriate e-mail format can exist in e-mail field in customer database.
Steps marked in bold should be executed as separate tests!
3
- The POS system should be able to send the bill to an e-mail account if needed.
- Closed order.
- Customer record in database (if customer is registered).
- Correct e-mail address.
- Incorrect e-mail address or other bad input.
Start steps (for every case):
- Open an order.
- Add some products to the order.
- Close the order.
- Choose an option to send the bill to e-mail address.
Customer is registered in database:
- Select option to send the order to the e-mail address recorded in database.
- Confirm sending the order to the e-mail address recorded in database.
Customer is registered in database, but wants to provide another e-mail:
- Select option to input e-mail manually.
- Provide working e-mail address / input some text that is not in e-mail format / leave the box empty.
- Confirm sending the order to provided e-mail.
- If the input was bad, verify that system brings up an error notification.
Customer is not registered in database. Waiter provides working e-mail:
- Select option to input e-mail manually.
- Input working e-mail.
- Confirm sending the order to provided e-mail.
Customer is not registered in database. Waiter provides bad input:
- Select option to input e-mail manually.
- Input some text that is not in e-mail format / leave the box empty.
- Confirm sending the order to provided e-mail.
- Verify that system brings up an error notification.
End steps (for successful cases):
- Check if an e-mail arrived successfully to recorded e-mail address.
- Close the order screen.
- If customer is registered in database, the e-mail address is read from database and the order is successfully sent to this e-mail address.
- If customer is not registered in database, waiter asks for e-mail address and inputs it in the system. If the provided address is in correct e-mail format, the order is successfully sent to this e-mail address.
- If waiter provides bad input (typo), the system brings up an error notification.
