The simplest widget with configuration activity

Android application widget sample with configuration activity.

Works fine for API level from 4 to 17 (and likely higher). In API level 3 (if don't use android:click attribute and ignore UnusedAttribute warnings in manifest) there is "Problem loading widget".

It updates once every half hour (despite the fact that 60000 milliseconds is set as the value of widget's update time -- see Android documentation about this behaviour).
