Multi-Git v5.2.2
What's new
- Cloning shows its progress. The Clone dialog has a progress bar that follows git through counting, downloading, resolving and checking out, with the objects received, the size and speed so far, and a rough estimate of the time left. The estimate follows the speed of the last few seconds, so it shortens when the connection speeds up and lengthens when it slows or stalls. Repositories picked from your GitHub list are compared with the size GitHub reports for them; for a pasted URL git does not say how large the download will be, so the size is guessed from how many objects have arrived, which is rougher. It appears once there is enough to go on. The same clone is listed in the operations bar.
What's changed
- The clone dialog opens with your GitHub repositories. When the GitHub CLI is installed and signed in, the repository browser expands and loads your repositories as the dialog opens, so there is nothing to expand or load first. The note about the GitHub CLI is only shown when it is not installed.

Multi-Git v5.2.1
What's changed
- History keeps commit messages readable. Branch and tag labels use their own line, and graph rows reserve only the space needed for visible lanes.
What's fixed
- GitHub CLI setup is available from Settings and the welcome screen. When
ghis missing, install it directly where supported or open its official installation page, then check again.

Multi-Git v5.2.0
What's new
- Multi-Git in the terminal.
multi-git tuiis a keyboard-driven Git assistant with the desktop app's workflows and safety checks: Vim-style keys, aSpacemenu that shows every shortcut, a:palette that finds workflows by name or by what you want, and a preview before anything changes a repository. See docs/terminal.md. - A terminal edition for every platform. Windows, macOS and Linux, each for x64 and ARM64, with its own runtime: Git is the only requirement.
multi-git updateupdates it when asked, after checking the download against the release checksums. - Enable the
multi-gitcommand from the desktop app. Offered once on the welcome screen, and in Settings → Terminal and agents, which also repairs, removes and opens it. The Multi-Git CLI button beside Terminal opens the terminal UI on the current repository. - An MCP server for AI agents.
multi-git mcpis read-only unless started with--allow-write, never force-pushes, and asks for the user's decision where the desktop app would. Settings copies the configuration to paste into an agent. See docs/mcp.md. - Guided CLI commands.
sync.fetch,pull,sync.push,ssh.select,remote.toggle, auto-pull, history and operations, with the desktop app's checks and a JSON Schema for every command's input.
What's changed
- One backend for the desktop app, the terminal and agents. Repository locks, SSH accounts, running operations and the unlocked vault are shared, and the CLI needs no server address. It exits a minute after its last client, or immediately after desktop exit when no other clients or operations need it.
- Auto-pull is decided once, in the backend. Two windows, or a window and a terminal, fetching at the same moment pull at most once.
- Download tables in the release notes. One table per operating system, with the edition, architecture and format of each file and a direct link. File names are unchanged, so installed copies keep updating.

Multi-Git v5.1.4
What's fixed
- The show button on a tag works. It did nothing when clicked. It now opens the tagged commit in the commit drawer. The tag list also shows the commit's hash for an annotated tag, where it used to show the hash of the tag object.

Multi-Git v5.1.3
What's fixed
- The buttons on worktree rows work. Open, new window, terminal, agent, copy path, lock, move and remove did nothing when clicked, in both the sidebar and the Worktrees window, because the clicks were never passed to the buttons.
- Removing a worktree says why when it fails, and offers to force it. A refusal from git reached the window as "git exited with code 128", with git's own reason thrown away. It now opens a dialog with that reason and a Force remove button, and a recovery point is still saved first. A worktree whose uncommitted changes had not been counted yet no longer stops at an error. It goes on to ask for the folder name. The remove button spins while git works, and the worktree this window has open can no longer be removed from under it.

Multi-Git v5.1.2
What's changed
- Worktrees, Rebase, Recovery, Branch Maintenance and Search open like Settings. 5.1.1 made them floating panels over the window, which still left everything behind them clickable. Each now opens as a centred window over a dimmed backdrop, as wide as Settings and only as tall as what is in it, and the rest of the application waits until it is closed. Escape closes it, and Tab stays inside it. Rows in Branch Maintenance, Recovery and Rebase keep their text against the left edge rather than centring it in a wide window.

Multi-Git v5.1.1
What's changed
- Worktrees, Rebase, Recovery, Branch Maintenance and Search pop out as panels of their own. They used to dock down the right-hand side and take that width from the window, squeezing the three panes into a fourth column. Each now floats over the window instead: drag it by its header, resize it from its corner, and it reopens where and at the size it was left. Double-clicking the header puts it back where a new one opens. Several can be open at once; the one last clicked is on top, and Escape closes that one first.
- The launch window can reach an agent that is not added yet. It used to offer only the agents already configured, so once one was set up there was no way to pick a different tool without leaving it for the agents window. Tools this machine has installed but that are not added yet now appear after the configured ones — picking one adds it and selects it, with its own prompt convention — and a More agents… card opens the agents window on the known tools. With nothing configured but something installed, the window opens rather than sending you away.

Multi-Git v5.1.0
What's new
- Coding agents know fourteen tools, and which models each one can use. The known-tool list was Claude Code and Codex; it now also covers Gemini CLI, Qwen Code, Cursor CLI, Aider, Kimi CLI, OpenCode, Crush, Goose, GitHub Copilot CLI, Amp, Droid and Continue CLI, each with what it is, where it lives, and whether this machine has it. A seeded definition carries that tool's own prompt convention rather than a guess — Gemini and Qwen take
-iin front of a prompt, and a tool with no interactive prompt is configured not to be handed one, which the previous single default got wrong for every tool but two. - A model to launch against. Claude Code can be pointed at Opus, Sonnet or Haiku, Codex and Gemini and Qwen at their own models, and Aider at its model shortcuts. DeepSeek, Kimi K2 and GLM are reached through the same list: each publishes an Anthropic-compatible endpoint, so the preset sets a base URL as environment rather than as an argument. No API key is ever stored — a preset names the variable to export and the launch passes it through.
- The launch window says what will run before it runs it. It shows the folder and its branch, the account it will push as, a card per agent with the tool's vendor and summary, the models it offers, and a multi-line prompt box. What will run carries the command on one line and opens to show the environment and the window it opens in; neither ever carries the prompt, which is still passed as one argument and recorded nowhere. Ctrl+Enter launches, and the window opens on the agent that last actually started.
- Agent management. Definitions can be copied for a second model and turned off without being deleted; the known-tool browser sorts what this machine has to the top, filters by name or vendor and adds one tool at a time; the launch history records the model and can be cleared.
What's fixed
- The SSH profile table lines up. Its Actions cell was laid out as a flex box, which took it out of the table row, so its borders and background sat a few pixels off the rest of each row.
- The coding agents filter box is no longer white. Search fields had no styling of their own and fell back to the browser default.
- An agent launched on macOS or Linux has a terminal to run in. A detached spawn there gets no console, so an interactive tool had nowhere to print and nowhere to be answered. Launches now open the platform's own terminal by default — Terminal.app, or whichever emulator the Linux desktop has, with Windows Terminal and PowerShell still named explicitly on Windows. The macOS bridge is a fixed script reading NUL-separated files, so no folder name, branch name or prompt is ever part of a string a shell parses.
- A coding agent can reach its model provider. The launch environment is an allowlist, and it listed nothing a model client needs, so a tool authenticating by API key rather than by a file in its own configuration could not sign in. Agent launches now also inherit an allowlist of model-provider variables and the proxy settings they are useless without. Terminals, editors and file managers keep the shorter list, and keys that address a git host rather than a model provider are still refused.
What's changed
- The SSH Profile Manager looks like Settings. Profiles, Add a key, Auto-select rules and the passphrase vault are listed down the left, each a section of cards instead of one column where headings ran into each other. Keeping ~/.ssh/config in sync is a switch with its explanation beside it, and choosing Add Key From File or Generate Key scrolls to the form it opens.
- Clone and New Repository group their questions. Clone asks what, where and with which key in three cards; New Repository asks about the folder, GitHub and the starting files. Their buttons stay pinned to the bottom, so Clone and Create are visible however far the form scrolls. Clone no longer shows two contradictory sentences about the GitHub CLI: the status sits in the GitHub browser, as one line beside its buttons. Creating the repository on GitHub, and signing commits and tags by default, are switches.
- Search, Compare and Branch Maintenance are easier to read. The search fields have labels rather than placeholders alone, each list has a heading, and an empty list says so quietly instead of in bold. Branch Maintenance shows its filters as chips on their own row, apart from Prune and Delete, and its branch list uses the panel's full height.
- The coding agents window looks like Settings. It opens centred rather than docked, with its four sections — your agents, known tools, add or edit, launch history — listed down the left instead of stacked in one scrolling column.
- Settings is laid out as a set of things you can change. Sections are listed down the left and each one opens as cards of rows, with what a setting does on the left and its control on the right. Checkboxes are now on/off switches that toggle from anywhere on the row, buttons are full size, tool status badges carry an icon, and the Agent CLI address has a Copy button. The two number fields are no longer white, and the worktree folder field no longer overflows the window.
- The Repository window looks like Settings. It opens centred rather than docked, with all eight sections (Remotes, Submodules, LFS, Patches, Bisect, Notes, Maintenance and Tools) listed down the left instead of a tab strip that showed only half of them. Lists and forms sit in cards, headings have room around them, and buttons and checkboxes are larger. The stale-branch rules in Maintenance use the same switches as Settings.

What's new
- Agent CLI commands describe their effects. The JSON help catalogue and dry-run output now identify local changes and remote reads or writes, so automation can distinguish staging, branch changes, fetch pruning and remote publication. The descriptions include conditional tracking configuration changes when creating branches or worktrees. They are policy information; the existing
--allow-writegate and command execution remain unchanged.

Multi-Git v5.0.2
What's fixed
- The welcome screen stops asking for Git Bash on macOS and Linux. Git Bash only exists on Windows, but every copy listed it as missing, so "Finish setting up" never went away there. The Git download button also opened the Git for Windows page everywhere; it now opens the page for your system.
- Cmd+Option shortcuts work on a Mac. Option changes the character a key types, so fetch, pull, push and stage everything (
⌥⌘F,⌥⌘P,⌥⌘U,⌥⌘S) never fired. Shortcuts are now matched by the key pressed.
What's changed
- No Windows-only wording on macOS and Linux. Shortcut hints show
⌘,⌥and⇧on a Mac. The File Explorer menu section, and the Windows Terminal and PowerShell choices for coding agents, appear only on Windows. The SSH key path example matches your system, the~/.ssh/configsetting names your terminal rather than Git Bash, and browser mode explains why it has no folder picker outside Windows. - Documentation for every platform. The README gives checksum, Git install and port commands for macOS and Linux as well as Windows, and the agent CLI guide no longer assumes PowerShell.
