This update brings massive improvements to the stability, security, and user experience of the Batch Transcriber module, bulletproofing the application against hardware bottlenecks.
New Features & Improvements
- Global Version Synchronization: The application version is now centrally managed. The sidebar menu, footer, and blue badges now consistently display the correct version.
- New Download Interface (NVIDIA CUDA): The floating popup for downloading GPU libraries has been completely rewritten. The download process and its progress bar are now cleanly and natively integrated directly into the main window, preventing "invisible" windows and improving tracking.
- Smart Network Failsafe: The CUDA library downloader now has a strict timeout limit. If the remote server fails or the internet drops, the program will no longer get stuck in an infinite loading loop.
Bugfixes
- Definitive Smart Fallback (CUDA to CPU): We've built an armor around the processing engine. If your graphics card struggles with insufficient VRAM when attempting to run the maximum model, or lacks native support for advanced architectures, the application will no longer crash or display fatal errors (
invalid device ordinal). Instead, it will intercept the GPU's failure, spin up the processor (CPU) in the background, and seamlessly transfer the workload! - Blank File Protection: Fixed a bug where transcribing directly on the CPU could generate an empty text file containing only the title.
- Memory Corruption Prevention (VRAM): The audio analysis flow now checks the graphics card limits on the very first chunk of the file. This ensures that CTranslate2 "initialization errors" do not corrupt the computer's RAM.
