Developer Preview

First tagged build. Runs from a source checkout; there is no PyPI package yet.

What works

  • One runtime behind both entry points: python -m agents.web and python -m agents.main.
  • Five permission modes, workspace-scoped file policy, per-write version checks.
  • Context governance: tool-result compaction, structured session folding, 30 KiB result spill.
  • File-based memory with model-selected recall; Skill retrieval, creation and evolution with staged candidates and regression evaluation.
  • Session recovery with tool checkpoints; incremental SSE updates in the web UI.
  • 272 offline tests; CI green on Ubuntu/macOS/Windows × Python 3.11/3.12/3.13.

Known limitations

  • MCP does not start on Windows (npx vs npx.cmd); both servers in .mcp.json currently work on macOS/Linux only.
  • First-version scope (I0–I2) is incomplete: no edit-proposal diff review (T04), no /diff or /undo (I2). See docs/iteration-progress.md.
  • The Dockerfile builds a CLI image only; it does not include web/.
  • Benchmark data is not distributed. See docs/datasets.md.
  • No PyPI package: install from source with requirements.lock.
