Append HMI Desktop 1.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@dhunt84971 dhunt84971 released this 11 Oct 13:12

New

  • Application scripts and local variables: applications made with Append HMI Studio 1.4.0 run their On start, While running and On shutdown application scripts, and scripts can use DIM local variables.
  • On shutdown runs on exit: when a project window closes, it waits for the application to stop (up to 5 seconds), so On shutdown runs and its retentive values are saved. A Windows log-off or shutdown is not held up.

@dhunt84971 dhunt84971 released this 11 Oct 02:03

New

  • ScreenToPDF(): applications can save the current screen as a PDF (one landscape Letter page, fitted and centered with at least 1/4" margins) through a Save dialog that suggests the screen's name.
  • Arcs and mirrored groups: applications made with Append HMI Studio 1.3.0's arc objects and flipped groups display correctly.

Append HMI Desktop 1.2.2

@dhunt84971 dhunt84971 released this 05 Oct 12:39

Fixes

  • Pointer hand: in running applications, the mouse pointer is the pointing hand only over objects that respond to a touch (pushbuttons, action scripts, user input, show and hide window, sliders) and are currently enabled. It is the arrow everywhere else.
  • No text selection: text on a running application's screen can no longer be selected.
  • White start-up screen: the start-up screen always has a white background, so the Append Automation logo shows on dark themes too.

Append HMI Desktop 1.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@dhunt84971 dhunt84971 released this 04 Oct 15:00

What's new

Applications run as in Append HMI Studio 1.2.0:

  • Indirect tags (IndirectDiscrete, IndirectAnalog, IndirectMessage) and LinkIndirectTag("Indirect", "Tag"), so one faceplate can serve many devices.
  • ShowWindow(name[, left, top[, modal[, wait]]]) opens a window from a script: moved, modal or not, and optionally waiting until it closes.
  • Fixes: scripts now read tags that no object on their window shows, and touches pass through objects hidden by a Visibility link to the object beneath.

Append HMI Desktop 1.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@dhunt84971 dhunt84971 released this 03 Oct 14:39

What's new

Recipes from Append HMI Studio 1.1.0 work in Append HMI Desktop:

  • recipe books;
  • the recipe script functions, including ShowRecipeSelect;
  • the Recipe List object;
  • the Recipe Error window.

Recipes saved while an application runs are kept in recipes/<application>.json in Append HMI Desktop's settings folder. RecipeExport and RecipeImport choose their CSV files in the usual Save and Open windows.

Applications run as in Studio 1.1.0, including its fixes: an empty memory message tag now starts empty instead of 0.

Append HMI Desktop 1.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@dhunt84971 dhunt84971 released this 28 Sep 12:54

The first release of Append HMI Desktop: it runs HMI applications (.ahmi) made with Append HMI Studio on operator PCs, without the editor.

Features

  • Command line: append-hmi-desktop project.ahmi runs a project with the window mode and exit policy set in Studio (kiosk, full screen or window; exit with Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Q, with a password, or not at all).
  • Launcher window when started without a project:
    • pick an .ahmi file;
    • Run now;
    • create a desktop shortcut or a Start menu / applications menu entry;
    • run it automatically at login;
    • a recent list.
  • Scripted setup: --create-shortcut desktop|menu and --startup on|off for installers and scripts.
  • Several projects at once, one window each; starting a running project brings its window forward.
  • Everything Studio's Run does, per project:
    • live PLC data (EtherNet/IP ControlLogix/CompactLogix, SLC 5/05 and MicroLogix, Modbus TCP, simulator);
    • alarms with CSV history;
    • retentive tags;
    • users and access levels.
  • File manager:
    • Windows: a "Run with Append HMI Desktop" verb on .ahmi files; double-click runs a project when Append HMI Studio isn't installed.
    • Linux: offered under Open With.
  • Lighter than Studio: only what running a project needs is packaged. The installer is 130 MB instead of 166 MB, and the AppImage 150 MB instead of 348 MB.
